Jewish people are 2.4% of the population in the US. This Jewish lady is voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. When he loses, it will be his fault, no one else’s.

I am half Jewish (on my father's side) and I, too am voting for Harris/Walz. And all the democrats I can find. Trump will never, ever accept responsibility for anything he does.

I'm 1/2 via my dad, too. As Adam Sandler would say "that's not 1/2 bad..." Sadly, some of my practicing cousins will vote for Trump.

I have a sister who may be practicing because she is married to someone who is, but as far as I know she has always voted democratic. Possibly the only good thing about her.

My KIDS are ½ JAPANESE. They were in school in Tokyo thru JR high school. All us Moms of the ½ Japanese kids got together one day years ago and decided from THEN ON our kids will be called DOUBLES, not ½ anything. TRY THAT. Remember, a Child’s self-esteem can be influenced by what other people, sometimes Ignorantly, call them.

I honestly do not understand why or how anyone would vote for someone who is part of MAGA.

I really don't understand how Miriam Adelson, a Jew, can sit there and let him talk like that. What the hell is wrong with her? Thank goodness for Doug Emhoff, but I hope Harris comes out with a lot more uniting verbiage because we really need it.

Mariam only cares about the methadone programs in America lining her purse ,keeping her rich off govt programs that keep vulnerable addicts addicted to her drug which is way worse than Heroin after long term use . But since her and the govt make big money having people come into clinics everyday ,and then those people are enrolled in food stamps and poverty housing it's a win -win for her . This is one of the cruelest programs set up for addicts ,keeping them strung out ...no rehabilitating....and their familys pays for their self addiction funded by the govt. Her only interest is her money

Ugh.

People just have no idea ...My daughter did her thesis on the Methadone program .....what a huge eye opener . I also knew a few methadone addicts . Many just take their daily dose ,hold it in their mouths and then spit it out in a bottle and trade it for heroin. Methadone numbs the internal organs eventually the poor addicts tongue swells up so bad it's impossible to talk correctly and what's worse is the bowels and anus drop out of the rectum ,making them have to have surgery for the most painful death of a prolapsed rectum . You can't imagine what methadone does .

Expand full comment

That's terrible!!! Is anything being done to stop this?

Expand full comment

Nope been going on for years ...she did her thesis in 2000. It's never changed ....it's a million dollar industry ,every city has a funky old delapidated building where these people have to go to get their methadone. The counselors have to supervise them ,and the system makes an easy 2000.00 per person (if not way more by now) These state owned buildings are the landlords ,each addict gets theyre drug and it's a complete farce but the money is huge. Figure (as my daughter did) at least 200 coming weekly @ 1000.00 each . That's $200,000 a week ...that's 800,000 a month . Rehabilitating and job training would and should be the priority .. but that'll never make her rich so it just continues . That's close to a million per year .appalling

They’re trying to shame Jews into voting for him. A lot of Jews don’t care and a lot don’t think that comment is antisemitic. I’m dubious myself. And I don’t think Trump’s an antisemite.

Antisemitism is fairly rare in US politics outside of a few nutballs like Candace Owens. And antisemitism mixed with antisemitism is rare too outside of some fringe kooks. The pro-Palestine people have policed their movement well.

Americans are much more likely today than two decades ago to describe antisemitism, or prejudice against Jewish people, as a problem in the U.S. Nearly half of Americans now rate it “very serious,” sharply higher than the 9% when Gallup previously measured this in 2003. A combined 81%, up from 57%, now see antisemitism as either a very or somewhat serious problem. Where have you been?

And if you see how Israel is behaving…89% of Israelis are in full support of the way this genocide has been carried out. 79% of US Jews don’t want to stop the genocide. Total of 84% of Jews in the world support the genocide. Half are doing it and the other half are cheering them on.

Yes 39% of US Gentiles don’t want to stop the genocide. That’s 86 million people right there, 81 and Jews are only 7 million

80 million Gentiles and 6 million Jews. But the whole reason we are finding this genocide is the Jewish Lobby in the US. Basically Big Jewish Money. Biden’s also driven by ideology and so are Republicans.

All in all this genocide looks disastrous for Jews, and it’s causing tsunamis of antisemitism. I assure you 100% of this increase is caused by Israel’s behavior in this war.

If people bring it up and say you want to cut off arms to Israel, just say, “Hey look leave me out of this, ok? I don’t support this horror at all. It’s an appropriate response and it distances you from the behavior.

Hi Pamela. If there’s an antisemitism epidemic then theoretically, you should be experiencing some of this yourself or in your community. Don’t mean to pry but are you?

I’m on another thread now and they are discussing Israel, and yes indeed a fair amount of anti-Zionism is mixed in with antisemitism. I’m not ecstatic about Jews as a group, but it’s not personal, that is, I don’t carry it over to Jews in real life, and individuals may indeed be great. I’ve been around them my whole life.

There are obsessive and conspiratorial antisemites on there, and GOOD GOD they are ugly and awful! And if I were a Jew, I would avoid these creeps, and as far as out and out Nazis go, I would regard them as my deadly enemies.

So yes I am seeing more antisemitism online these days, but I think mostly these are latent Jew-haters who are crawling out of their caves. That is before they might have quiet antisemites, now they see it’s all clear, and they can emerge and scream these long-held dormant beliefs.

Good morning Robert.

I’m a second generation Holocaust survivor, my paternal grandparents were murdered in the Warsaw Ghetto, we think. Never got any real confirmation. Yes, growing up I experienced antisemitism. I was the typical stereotype. Lived in an upscale neighborhood, drove nice cars, Dad was a business owner. He came to this country and worked hard to be successful and give his kids all he could. For some reason this gives people the right to be jealous and make hateful remarks. We are educated, good business people and good with money. Apparently that gives people up the right to criticize. My Dad and Uncle got drafted and sent back to Germany to translate. My Uncle was a Ritchie Boy, look them up. Trained in intelligence. I live in the Bible Belt only because my kids are here. I don’t advertise I’m Jewish for obvious reasons, but I hear the remarks. There is a huge difference between Judaism and Zionism. Do I like what is going on in Gaza? Absolutely not. I dislike Netanyahu.

I embrace my roots but do not practice my religion because I’m not a hypocrite. I have had my fair share of run ins with rabbis too. I have no use for any organized religion. Best, Pam

It’s not. It’s just a bunch of Jews and their rightwing allies creating a fake antisemitism crisis out of thin air because Jews love being victims snd hence hallucinate it all day long. Not that real antisemites don’t exist of course. People are getting braver in how they talk about these folks and Jews say all criticism is antisemitism.

Well yeah a few people are getting more Jew-critical now and that’s just fine as long as you apply it to everyone else too.

I think it’s normal that most folks are not real keen on these people because they think correctly that too many of them act bad.

But almost all of these people are vague and philosophical about this and you never see them treating anyone different as they mostly treat every individual Jew as an individual, and there are a lot of cool Jews out there who don’t live out the bad stereotypes. I call this Watercooler Antisemitism and to me this is just the normal way people think of the group.

There is a much more serious type called Obsessive and Conspiratorial (Nazi) Antisemitism which can be quite dangerous, but it’s really not that common. I almost never meet such people.

In truth almost all of this fake antisemitism epidemic is due to anti-Zionism and a lot of people who are starting to really dislike Israel. This has exploded. The Jews and Right call all of this antisemitism too.

There does seem to be an increase in vulgar antisemitism but it’s not something you see in daily life or even see on the news. Perhaps if I were Jewish I might see more of it.

Dirty little secret but a lot of this is inner city Blacks, especially in New York. Huge numbers of Orthodox Jews live adjacent to Blacks there. Those kind of Jews act horrible and they’re being unfriendly and even screwing over the Blacks with sleazy behavior, so the Blacks don’t like them.

In short tempest in a teapot.

Reported incidents have exploded but still you’re unlikely to see any. The most recent ADL world antisemitism survey found that 12% of Americans were serious antisemites. That’s one of the lower rates.

Why thank goodness for Emhoff. He’s a creep too. He backs Israel 100% and he might be the main reason Kamala doesn’t want to cut off arms, especially as she’s about converted now anyway. She herself is Jewish in all but name.

Jews shame each other like that all the time, and that’s when they’re not screaming their heads off at each other. Don’t believe me? Go to Israel and see for yourself. It’s not antisemitism because they talk like this among themselves all the time.

Dean, I am so very tired of Donald not accepting responsibility for anything, daily bitching about this or that, his followers- cult making excuses for him or other MAGA politicians such as this character in North Carolina. As a 72 year old Jewish guy I am appalled at this resurgence of hate, hate the other, hate anyone who is not white, male, straight and Christian. I grew up with the knowledge that I, as a member of a minority community would be targeted, but never expected our president or a candidate be so antisemitic, a major political party to act in the same manner. I think I speak for all of us when I say…. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired due to Donald and MAGA. Best to you Dean….

As a woman, I understand exactly what you mean when you say you are sick and tired of being sick and tired. Women are actually over half of the population, but that doesn’t make us a majority when you consider the patriarchy, which considers women to be inferior to straight white men. We aren’t, but that is why we’ve never had a woman or a Jewish man as president. I’ve got my fingers crossed, and I hope to live long enough to say Madam President. (I’m 84)

We still have to report the overwhelmingly positive aspects of the Harris/Walz ticket more than the upsetting news from Trump and the MAGA randoworld. How will VP Harris and Governor Walz protect our freedoms? What will they do from the start of her Presidency? How will she be better on the economy than the raft of new taxes in the form of tariffs Trump will impose on working families? What are some of the ways Walz and Harris will look out for working families? Where will Joe Biden campaign for our ticket? Why is Harris a better choice to be commander in chief? How can democrats respond to the Georgia Election Board building in delays to final certification? How can we counter the massive voter purges enacted by the Governor of Oklahoma? Which dem senate and house candidates can pick up seats this year in early voting, mail in voting and in person voting on election day?

Expand full comment

As far as OK is concerned, it is bright red. Some money may be spent there, but it won’t go blue this year, and both campaigns know that. Winning the swing states is the only way to win the Electoral College, and that’s where most of the work is being done. We could win over a few voters in solid red states, but if we don’t win PA, WI, MI, AZ, NC, and NV we are in danger of losing the EC.
