I'm not shocked that racism is still such a huge part of the US and GOP in particular.
"Don't Tread On Red!" is their main message. Like the C monuments, the C flags should be permanently retired along with every obsequious Civil war reenactment.
Really, what is the purpose of reenacting a failed overthrow of democracy?

Last night on FAUX, Gutfeld the news/comedian says that Jews could have been more useful in the camps… WTAF? What is the goal of whitewashing slavery and Nazi concentration camps?
Unfortunately, with all of her past accomplishments, she just doesn't have the "IT" factor or personality that a person in that esteemed position should have. I know that's an extremely superficial thought, but welcome to America, where everything is a reality show of no merit or real purpose, except to entertain the masses without any solid solutions to anything; but the corporate concern over ratings, market share, advert dollars and self preservation!
Add to the fact the MSM does everything in it's power to suppress the truth, deny the facts and push their 'sanitized' fascist-lite agenda into everyone's living room, regardless of the good Joe Biden or Kamala Harris does, is really the main problem that should be the prime focus but isn't; thanks to money being free speech and corporations masquerading as people.

Someone needs to put into place an alternative to the Florida brainwashing classes--students could be allowed to substitute the class with one that is offered through telecommunications. Parents need to make a stand against propaganda being “taught” to students. When I was a kid, public schools were told they could no longer be used for after-school religious studies--those classes had to be moved to a different venue. Well, public schools are NOT the venue for brainwashing politics, either.
My life as a white woman has afforded me some privilege and even I can see clearly how racism is insidious in our culture and institutions. But, holding the idea that slaves benefitted from slavery is astonishing. Proposing the idea to children is an attempt to continue to brainwash them and perpetuate the white culture of feeling superior. To whose benefit? To soothe white egos to keep them free of stress and conscience? To continue to profit from todays form of enslavement? Who profits from that? Certainly not people of color, or the middle class for that matter. It is meant to keep the wealthy white class in control of the wealth of this country. Keep the wealthy separate from the unwashed masses. To keep those masses laboring for the "economy" of the wealthy while they continue to try to cut any benefit for the those masses to participate and share in those benefits?. Democratic Socialism sounds radical, but it's where our country was headed in the 1960's civil rights era. Equalizing our countries bounty is the best way to fight racism. Educating ourselves is the bestnway to achieve the goals of Democratic Socialism and true freedom.
I will always wonder what would have become of Reconstruction if Lincoln had lived and our government would have executed the leaders, treasonous traitors of the confederacy for the mofos that they were and remain. Traitors should be killed. But really the North knew too. That sweet free money.
