Yes you were one of the loudest and most persistent voices begging Merrick Garland to step up and do his job and yet here we are, living in a completely lawless society run by criminals and grifters. I'm ashamed and disgusted and so mad!!!

Me too!

Garland was among the worst AGs in the modern era. And, one of Joe Biden's biggest missteps.

Of course a man who’s almost 80 and never suffered the consequences of his actions will become a monster

He was a monster probably by age 3.

If you read Mary Trump's books you will find verification of this.

Well, one might assume that someone who, as a child, liked throwing rocks at babies in a crib may be on their way to becoming a monster. Just sayin’. 😏😎

Following Reader/Writer ..... There is probably a very good/bad reason why Degenerate Don's older brother and younger brother were both sent to a prestigious prep school, the middle son, Degenerate Don, was sent to a military academy; these often served as reform schools for rich kids.

But I may be doing Don the Con an unjustified assumption.

His psychologist niece, Mary Trump, is in agreement with you.

It's not just that, it's also biological, hard-wired, anomalous neurological functioning that deprive him of experiencing empathy and feeling guilt

Expand full comment

This is what his niece has told us also, that he has never been held accountable for his misdeeds & crimes. Therefore he keeps pushing acceptable boundaries until there is resistance. Who will push back?

Certain people will push any system to its breaking point. The Oligarchs and their mobster Don prove that every day. Our legal system grants the right to infinite appeal. If we survive, that needs to be changed. tRump couldn't afford it, but he corrupted the PAC and Campaign laws to use OPM to accomplish this.

As we go forward fighting these bastards, we need to remind everyone that while Garland was a weak AG who didn't do his job, the real fault lies with John Roberts who wove the immunity doctrine out of thin air and took months to do it. Even if they had ruled that bullshit in December or January, Trump would have gone to trial...and been convicted. Nothing he did remotely counts as an official act of a president.

I agree with pretty much everything you say here, Dean.

However, as a Canadian citizen living on historical Treaty 6 indigenous lands, I would note that Trump and his minions have a hell of a lot of work to do on the subject of “annexing” Canada. Every Treaty made between the indigenous peoples living in Canada and the British Sovereign is still valid, and as such would have to be re-negotiated by Trump and King Charles III or his successors before they could become US Territory. As for the unceded (ie., non-Treaty) lands, they would have to be negotiated between Trump and each individual First Nation community, which would be a long, slow process. And then there’s Quebec, which is considered a Nation within Canada, with its own legal system, pension fund and other operations separate from Canada, not to mention its own group of indigenous nations within the province that would require separate negotiations.

So, a warning to Mr Trump: if you think annexing Canada is going to be an easy process, think again. If you think it’s just a question of marching over the 49th Parallel and taking all the assets that are there, think again; you may discover that there’s no “there” there.

I am a woman 76 years old, I have been watching Trump get by with so much & never a consequence. Ivana, his 1st wife went on national television after he beat her & raped her. She had to walk back the rape accusation, Cohen his lawyer at the time forced that & later in his book said he regretted making her do this. I was in my 30's & I eventually tuned out all the reports of raping woman. I couldn't figure out

how one man could have done all this & never be held accountable. Then his mother was interviewed in front of Trump Tower. A young female reporter ran up to her & said your son is running for President do you think he will make a good President, she didn't miss a beat, she said oh no not my Donald, the reporter was taken back & said why would you say that, & again she didn't miss a beat, she said because my Donald likes to have his own way & you can't have your own way when you are President of the United States. I know his mother was right about her son but he has proven that he can have his own way, he seems to be above the law, I have yet to see him be accountable for anything & now he is President, beyond sickening.

So terribly true. The man seems to think he is above both approach and accountability. He got away with much because he was a laughing stock in Manhattan, a white lie. Somehow this made him feel invincible. Now he is just delusional, in his own world, hero of a made-up tale. (With too much makeup worn.)

And he thinks he's ruler of the world. He interferes with other countries' internal affairs as well as external ones. This is not going to serve him well at all.

And he doesn’t care since HIS world - the delusional one - and his ignorance remain unaffected.

I often think that Trump himself can’t get over the fact he’s not in jail yet.

We NOW have a criminal government against innocent people here in the USA.

Let’s not normalize calling him President-elect. Felon-elect works for me, or just Trump. I retired saying/typing “President” (when referring to Trump) until noon on January 20, 2029. Then he’ll just be the former convicted felon.

I will be wearing this "A convicted felon will NEVER be my president" shirt the next four years 👇

Way to go MAGA giving you freedom away to a FELON 🤦‍♀️

🔸️NONE of the big blubbery baby man's clown show would be happening if he was disqualified day one after forensic psychiatrist Dr Bandy X Lee's report of the FIVE DANGEROUS MENTAL PATHOLOGIES of Donald Trump.

🔸️The 1973 Goldwater Rule is obsolete. It said a public figure should be personally examined to diagnose. Today, social media continues to record thousands of hours of pathological behavior from the one foot tall orange baby man in diapers for all to see. No personal examination needed.

🔸️Voters DEMAND mentally fit leadership. It is the sacred duty of Senate leadership to protect American voters from dangerous mentally unfit candidates and to prevent autocratic abuse.

However, in March 2024, the US Supreme Court—while not disturbing the finding that Trump had engaged in an insurrection—ruled that only Congress could enforce this provision of the Constitution. Yet again, Trump was not held accountable for his crimes.

No....SCOTUS did NOT say that. They issued a dicta statement after ruling that a state can not bar a federal candidate from their ballot. Dicat are not binding. It speculated that congress may need to write enforcing legislation. It is statement issued that is not needed to decide the case at hand. The only court to have actually ruled on this was the CO supreme court. SCOTUS has gone out of its way to not rule on this. Section is self enforcing just like the rest of the sections in the 14th....even more so given the fact that the section states ther is a mechanism to relieve this ineligibility by a 2/3 vote in each house. Somebody w/ standing PLEASE have the stones to sue to enforce the 14th. This could be any injured party under a writ of quo warranto. Please read the congressional research services LegaL sidebar from 9/27/22.

it'd be great if the courts actually backed up their rulings with some arrests.

where is law enforcement on this?

Expand full comment

All of the rulings are TROs that will be adjudicated with a full hearing and appealed all the way to the SC by both sides. Courts cannot arrest anyone unless you are already on the docket and violating court orders. Since there are no charges levied against the anyone, let’s reserve law enforcement to rounding up the folks that have actually committed crimes.

The scum has completely taken over the pond now. I don’t have much hope that a free American society will survive a second Trump term. Trump obviously doesn’t want it to.

Some of the symptoms of Antisocial Personality Disorder are:

being angry often

being arrogant

manipulating others

acting witty and charming to get what they want

lying frequently

stealing

acting aggressively and fighting often

breaking the law

not caring about personal safety or the safety of others

not showing guilt or remorse for actions

This describes trump, he has all of the symptoms.

Someone who is Criminally Insane should be in a mental health facility, not the White House. The congress failed twice in his first term to remove him. The journalists who are not reporting his lawlessness think they are saving their jobs. Ignoring his crimes just proves that they should not be journalist.

What we are witnessing - in real time - is not just a Constitutional crisis … but the very real disintegration of the American Dream. This is a totally deluded man … self- and otherwise. His lies so transparent, his delusions so inconceivable, his behavior so crass and petty—and we just watch, mouth agape, AND DO NOTHING.

At least Hitler, Mussolini, Putin, Stalin has some sort of charisma or attraction. Trump, anti-charismatic … and so transparent. We should be ashamed.
