Trump forgets that his mother, grandfather and two of his wives are/were immigrants.

Yesterday when I heard what Trump said about the migrant fighting my first thought was isn’t inciting violence against the law? Does anything he does warrant arrest? He is inciting violence against a large group of people in this country. Who would listen to such a vile subhuman?

White racists. That’s who.

Well, they’re white so…🤷‍♀️

Trump was predicted by Sinclair Lewis. You remember the novel “It Can’t Happen Here”? Fascism coming to America wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross?

Trumputin has done the same, wrapped himself in a flag and carrying a bible.

Projection, Dean, projection! That's what trump does. He puts everything he is and does onto other people. When I read about the immigrant fights this morning, my thoughts immediately went to cock fighting. Now that I think about it, aren't immigrant fights a lot like what the Romans did with gladiators in the coliseum? I agree that the idea isn't the worst one he's had, but it sure got to me. He just becomes scarier every time he opens his mouth.

And Susan he will get more dangerous as he continues to drop in the polls.

I think the closer we get to the election the more unhinged he will become. Heck, even the debate might cause a meltdown when he gets shut off and its Mr Biden's turn to speak. One can only hope he unravels on live tv.

I hope they don’t address trump as president.

The correct term is Mr. Trump. Or former President Trump. This is the etiquette, for those who care about such things. I do. Actually.

It would be exceedingly disrespectful to refer to Trump as president when the actual president is standing at the next podium over.

But that hasn’t stopped anyone in the media so far who favors Trump. But again, super rude to say it with President Biden standing there.

I don't know HOW he can become MORE dangerous! He's already contaminated and poisoned nearly half the country. But he could set his cultists to rioting violently wherever he chooses, I suppose. Try to bring Armageddon early? Since he embodies Satan's characteristics, that would make sense...

NOT.

I wish that weren't true.

I seem to recall that the orange one’s grandfather was not the most desirable immigrant. Maybe he is aware of this?

In fact, his grandfather was not allowed to return to his native Germany because he fled the draft into the German army. The multiple generations of males in the Trump family have all avoided being drafted to defend their country, including captain bone spur himself, Donald.

He was kicked out of Germany for dodging the draft in WW1.

Depravity and cruelty from Trump and his MAGA following which has completely co-opted the republican party with their permission is a feature and not a bug.

Expand full comment

They did co-opt the GOP. The original GOP left in the first year of Trump’s term in 2016. 42%, I believe was the number. More are leaving now with the prospect of Trump getting re-elected.

As I’m fond of telling the little brats whining about ‘RINO’s better do what they’re told or they’ll be voted out’ on twitter, there is no such thing as a RINO. It’s MAGAT or GOP. And GOP has left the building, leaving extremists and lawbreakers behind.

Look at the Republican congress, including Sycophant of the House Johnson who capitulates to anything Trump wants. Gaetz, Boebert, Jordan, Comer, Green, Blackburn, Hawley, Tuberville, Vance, Biggs. All liars, adulterers, pedos, and thieves. Because if they don’t, there’s a price.

GOP members who supported keeping the government open last year received threatening calls to their homes and families. Can you imagine threatening members of Congress? But they did.

What amazes me is that Republicans still think that they’re conservative. They’re not conservative. There is nothing conservative about anything he says or does. It truly is a cult, in my opinion the largest and saddest cult that ever existed in our country.

Jim Jones killing off all of his followers couldn’t hold a candle to tfg. David Koresh and the Waco disaster seemed horrific at the time. Neither of those instances came close to the mass die off of hundreds of thousands of Americans under his failed Covid response. It almost seemed like he wanted his supporters to die by encouraging them to drink bleach or take the horse wormer Ivermectin. It’s like mass hypnosis. When you compare the number of Americans who died under his failed Covid response to those who perished in those other disasterous cults, they pale in comparison. I will never understand how people can admire him. I just have absolutely no clue.

I have to think that the degradation of our public school systems has created a large population of people who don’t know how to think critically.

I wonder how they’ll feel when/if Republicans take away their Social Security and Medicare benefits. They don’t seem to realize that cutting these programs is promised and will directly affect their own lives in a negative way.

One of these days I’m going to invite an old friend (or two) who swallowed the Kool-Aid to a discussion about what they think another Trump regime will actually accomplish for them. I have one old friend who just turned 69. I know for a fact that he’s counting on collecting Social Security at age 70. College educated, but born again and listens to Fox News and reads the Epoch Times. It’s amazing

to me that they don’t see what the Republican Party is actually planning to do.

I'm second generation Italian. My grandparents were not treated as white people when they came in the early 20th century. Why? Because the only white immigrants came from the UK, Germany, Scandinavia, maybe France, Belgium and Holland. It was the law. Trump is offensive on so many levels, I think this is the one that hits me hardest in the gut. His fucking grandfather ran a whorehouse after dodging the draft in Germany. His mother and two wives were/are immigrants. His father was a Nazi lover and KKK member. And as for Trump as a Christian, should he actually enter a church I have no doubt that God would unleash a thunderbolt and destroy him. My great hope is that he has a stroke and that the only caregivers he can find are immigrants from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras or Venezuela. Imagine the humiliation of he depends on if one of the people he most reviles is the person who has to change his diaper, or better, shove the foley into his tiny mushroom.

Just when you think TFG can’t say anything more vile. Just when you think he can’t possibly shock me anymore…

What blows my mind is the Maga crowd. They are all sons, grandsons, etc of immigrants! How would they like it if he was speaking about their relatives? Putting them into a ring to fight?

And speaking about it at a faith and freedom conference?

Omg. (So to speak)

I like it better when he babbles about sharks and electrocution. At least TFG’s not offensive, just flipping stupid.

Trump says exactly what he means out loud and to the very faces of many who should fear his plans. The kool-aid must be 100 proof, because they continue to believe and cheer. He comes from immigrants, married immigrants, and obviously doesn’t mind the beautiful female immigrants. This is how shallow a man he is. And the fact that he has seduced almost the entire contingent of GOP elected officials, Christian Nationalists, and homegrown militant terrorists is frightening. Anyone who reads history knows how this ends.

One can only guess at the verbal excrement he will fire during a debate with Mr. Biden, specially when they turn his microphone off for the other to answer. Hate is the only thing the trump knows, that and having no empathy at all for anyone.

How does he do it??? How does he find ever newer depths of depravity and ugliness??? Satan himself would be in awe!

Expand full comment

The themes that Trump fires up are as old as America herself. Hate, xenophobia, and ventilation of sadistic acting-out constitute the ugly dark underbellies of human nature itself. ALL religions share their common mission of uplifting humanity out from this depravity, inspiring compassion, community, and the virtues of the human spirit.

The unfettered sequestration of wealth of the past fifty years, eroding the middle class, has left many feeling betrayed by our social covenants, allowing the opportunist infection of a sociopathic, malignant narcissist to light the flame of discontent and misplaced grievance.

The religion of Trump is greed, hatred, and revenge. A greater number of us reject the far-right solutions. We must remain strong and committed to maintaining our legacies and commitments to democratic order.

A malignant force must be killed like a cancer that will kill all of us. A malignant narcissist is a term coined after psychological study of Hitler. The Machiavellian personality is ancient history. Trump is leading a malignant plague and yet he’s too ill and he will be replaced; bringing an even greater threat to all of us
