And progressive policies won big all over the country--even in many red states! (Which really makes it even more odd that T*ump won those states...)

He didn't win. The system was rigged.

See below. This is an edit. Marc Elias has come out and said the election was not rigged.

Yep. That's the horrible truth.

We'll get to watch as Trump and his greasy, corrupt rejects dismantle every last facet of American democracy; all the while knowing that all these fascist losers stole the election from Kamala right out in the open but no one says or does a thing to stop it.

It's mind boggling just how many people, especially Kamala voters, immediately say “Nope, we're not going there. Trump won fair and square, there was absolutely no rigging and no cheating, so we will not be like MAGA and decry the coup that took place before all of our very eyes.”

We currently find ourselves in a truly disgusting and infuriating position; one in which many of us foresaw happening and warned about nearly a decade ago. I'm finding it difficult (read: damn near impossible) to come to grips with that. I want something, anything, to be done to prevent this nightmarish dystopia that's unfolding - but I feel utterly helpless and alone in knowing that the American people as a whole clearly have zero interest in facing reality and admitting that the election was stolen and the man who will inevitably be sworn in next January neither belongs in the White House again nor does he at all deserve it.

I guess burying our collective heads in the sand is preferable…?

OK. Marc Elias has confirmed that the election was legit. Thus, I’m backing off of my belief the election was rigged. The puts the blame solely on the electorate, we the people. Shame on us.

I wonder if Biden will test the limits of his new expanded powers? If Trump will be able to do almost anything he wants when he gets in, that means that right now Biden should be able to do those exact same things. And if congress and the Supreme Court find that offensive they can take some of that power away from all future presidents

Do not give the Repugnants the keys to the executive branch if we do not want total Fascism and our own killing fields of freedom and Justice.

Perhaps with the military, if a president believes there’s a faction that could hurt our “democracy”? Protecting the democracy, constitution, rule of law, and the rights of ALL Americans regardless of sex, race, age, religion etc. to have ALL the rights afforded them

At the present time

Wouldn’t the President have every right and duty to protect ALL Americans. ALL, every single one. Even ones who are not straight, white, male, Christian nationalist and rich.

I like hearing these statements, but they are just statements. I like hearing stay strong and oppose what is going to start happening, but I don't think people really understand yet what we are going to witness. I feel like a lot of people are thinking this is 2024, we are not going to see "brown shirts" killing people in the streets. On January 6th, 2021, "brown shirts" assaulted the Capital of our country and didn't give the two shits about the consequences. They will all be released soon. What do you think this will inspire? In those who were maybe a bit afraid of getting in trouble, before. Those who were like, no, that shit is crazy. It isn't crazy anymore. Papa Trump or the governor of your state, will just save you afterwards. Look at Texas where Abbott pardoned the guy who said he wanted to kill a protester, publicly, then drove into the middle of protestors and shot one point blank, went on trial and was found guilty, sentenced, and right after was released by the Texas governor. I hear, the military will not obey orders against the citizens. Ummm, the militias will in a heartbeat. If you stay in the US moving forward, you will need to become more open to violence. This is now real. My wife and I are leaving.

Agreed. I think people need to be reminded of the systematic texts that were sent to blacks the day after Trump's win. With immunity for law enforcement, try getting racist people held accountable for their racism. People will die. I already am prepared for the "n" word being used openlyandfrequently. And, I wonder what others will do when they hear it spoken in public in front of them. What will they do? Will they stand up against it? Or, will they cower in fear and leave it alone? Things are going to get VERY ugly, quickly.

Trumps 31 percent of eligible voters is not a mandate. Hear that Media? Those who sat this election out could have helped but didn’t. We need to lean on him to do some positive things for this country. Not just for his billionaire acolytes. Sitting it out while he takes our constitution down is not a choice. We must work together.

I'm still trying to understand how Democrats swept the statewide races in NC, but Trump won the state. I'm not saying he cheated (he did), but it makes no sense. Same with the victories for abortion rights in state he and miserable shitbirds like Hawley and Cruz won.

In Arkansas electric ballots jumped off of presidential candidates from blue to red . And it happened to more than one person on different days ..if the Repubs don't allow a recount , it would be obvious what happened. If the shoe was on the other foot. We would . Denial of recount can't be legal , can it ? We all just want a honest vote so our voices are heard ....why not if they legally won want to prove it ?

It was uploaded to Elon Musk’s Starlink and changed. That’s how Trump and everything looks suspicious

It's called the electoral college. Also, people don't read or watch news so there is little logic to explain why they vote the way they do.

It's simple. People on NC are okay with Dems in House and Senate, but they wrong think the Dems will be able to stave off Trump's fascist agenda. They won't. Those voters will find out the hard way. They also are not ready for a rfemale president. Not a white one. And, especially not a black-asian one.

‘ And Trump’s popular vote margin over Harris will likely be less than two percent when all the votes are counted’

I do not believe all the votes will ever be counted as it appears that many were shit-canned by treachery.

I used the word 'appears.' i have been reading different reports including one that said Kamala may be gearing up to challenge the election results. However, with so much mis-information online and in the so=called news, I'll quote both Socrates and and that German Sargeant on that old sitcom called Hogan's Heros.

I KNOW NOTHING

So many broken bricks

And charred cinders of

Romantics’ dreams built

On stilts of wonder and

Delusions of acceptance

Leaving the smoking embers

Of failed passions

And secret hopes

For a stillness of the scorch

The incipient rejection

Was not from others

But from within me

Dream reality that

Embracing uncertainty

Escapes gnarly roots

Seeking entombment

Of complete understanding

Freedom of being

Umbilici open to all

Uncontrolled possibilities

Bricks are broken

Yet help to build

A jagged path

To more questions

Not seeking answers

But getting more questions

To radiate in awe

Of the infinite universe

That cannot be understood

But is intimately known

The same media that sane washed Trump is blaming Democrats for the loss. The same people that are blaming Democrats for not securing the border are the ones that applauded the Republicans not passing the bipartisan border bill.

Dean: thank you for this. As a retired demographer and former Census Bureau staffer, you did the math that was rumbling around in my head.

Also, I just shared your post with Scott Dworkin. You guys should connect, especially on the corporate media angle.

The election almost sounded like a mandate, from what I've heard, because trump clearly got more than 270 electoral college votes. But the fact that so many red states passed measures to enshrine abortion rights, and other things that were good for people definitely means no mandate. I, for one, refuse to submit to trump or his toadies. I also know that Project 2025 has a lot of unconstitutional and illegal parts, and I know that there are a lot of law groups that won't take those lying down. I wonder if trump is saying he has a mandate because enough people voted for him that they've kept him from going to prison? I personally believe that a majority of Americans would prefer to see him in prison.

Can we stop calling Republicans, the GOP? (aka Grand Old Party) They are not grand, just old and far from a party.

I call them the GQP.

I had to google it. That’s more who they are.

I only refer to them in writing and verbally as Repubs—they made a decision years ago and then fell in lock-step across their political and media ecosystem to shorten our name from the “Democratic” party to the “Democrat” party in order not to allow us to be positively associated with Democracy.

Agreed! We need to call them Republicans since that’s what on the ballot. The MSM calls them the GOP constantly when reporting critical news (government shutdowns, unpopular policies, etc). There are voters who don’t know “GOP” is the Republican candidates on their ballots…

Bravo Dean. I needed this! Sick to death of hearing the word mandate in relation to the convicted felon president. Sick of the smirking MAGAs too.

Made the same point many times. But it won't matter. Because when Trump says something his sycophants jump and the media follows. So Trump will rule as if he can do what he wants. Now that he's the President-elect, his voters no longer matter since he doesn't care about them. Only about Trump. His cabinet will handle the policy in which he's not interested: culture wars, guns, Christianity.

And I was alive and voted in 84....it was a stolen Election ...Ronnie was brain dead and Nancy a psycho. They're astrologist ran our Nation . I know I worked in rest homes and saw and talked with the widows who voted Ronnie in first term but it was only because they thought he was dreamy. Such a ridiculous reason to vote for a president .Sure it said second term he won it all ...but ,believe me ,I didn't quit voting for 40 years because he won .. This time I only voted to save the country but it didn't do any good ..because the Federalists Society and Heritage Society don't care ..about you.. your family ...not even your kids . They want power and money .And if your not a rich , free monger , your not good enough for them ..no matter what color your skin is .And they'll cheat or lie just because they think they can ...Some of us can't be fooled . Many of us saw this coming and have learned to live very conservative .. Those will survive , many won't get thru this untainted ....I suggest don't buy anything that you pay taxes on .
