Trump wants to be a star (famous person). He wants people to at least act like they are thrilled to be in his presence. He is really more like a White dwarf (an astronomical body) White dwarfs are very dense old stars that are nearing the end of there existence.

The problem with your apology is that white dwarfs take a long, long time to fade away. I don't wish violence on anyone, but as Spock so famously said, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, OR the one." Sounds like democracy to me...

Sorry, analogy.

No offense Bill, but I’m from Brooklyn, Nu Yawk. We settle our disputes with knuckles. There’s a saying here in the old neighborhood, pertaining to “Donny dearest,” that goes,”I’d knock the orange cafone into da middle of next week!” I leave it at that..then of course there’s the ignominious and syphilitic (seriously) Gowanas Canal where loud mouths and knuckleheads invariably end up swimmin’ wit da fishes..”

So I say that about violence for two reasons. I don't wish to bump up against federal law, not that I'm paranoid but. Also, God forbid, he wins, or more likely steals, this election, I don't want to bring the Gestap down on me and my family.

It would be grand if this 'white dwarf' of a human being exploded...

Beautiful analogy, Mark. Thank you for a good laugh.

... the only denseness he has is being a big loudmouth bully....

Dean!! I wanted to jump up and do a Happy Dance, but I couldn't because I'm waiting for Hip replacement surgery! What a great 2nd night for the Democrats and the Nation. Good Job this morning, Thank You 💯💙🇺🇸

Karen, I wish you the best with your hip replacement surgery. My husband goes through his second one on Monday. It is a surgery well worth going through.

Had a hip replacement 3 months ago. Having no more pain is definitely worth it. (Still using a cane for stairs, but no pain.)

So glad it went well. I should tell everyone that about 2 weeks after his first hip replacement, 5 years ago, my husband climbed up to the roof to check out what was going on with our evaporative cooler. I was supervising, but he did a really good job and was successful at his endeavor.

Blessings to you and yours 🙏💙

Right back at you, Karen!

Good luck with your surgery, Karen!!

Well, you’ve got until 11/5 to regain your dancing capabilities . Just make sure your “happy dance” is part of your physical therapy following your surgery if you have it before the election. Just tell your P.T. You want that as one of your goals of therapy. Just make sure he/she isn’t a MAGA member though.

I appreciate You 💯💙🇺🇸

::pained chuckle:: The fact that you’re waiting leads me to believe that your upcoming surgery is…elective? 🙂🤞🏼 I am currently 5wk post op from a very non-elective total hip replacement, [tbh, I did my own happy dance by flexing an index finger as I had kind of a rough day today 🫤], and 4wk 🎉 so far in a rehab facility learning how to get used to this new hardware, and trying to get strong enough for them to let me go home. 😮‍💨

All the best with your upcoming surgery, Karen.🤞🏼🤗💙 Just don’t push yourself too hard, or overdo it — because you *will* pay for it. 😅 [you’d think I’d’ve figured that out in the past month, but nooooo… 🙄🙂‍↔️😂] You’ll be back in stride sooner than you think if you go easy in the early days. I’m here for moral support if you need it. 🤗💙

I had my hip done 25 years ago, best thing I ever did. I hope you have as good a doctor as I had.

Michelle and President Obama both knocked it out of the park last night!!! I was laughing, clapping, cheering and crying. They are national treasures. Hope IS making a national comeback. Thank God.

Now go do something everyone!!! ❤️🇺🇸💙

It's really nice to read a newsletter that kept me laughing all the way through. I just adore the Obamas. And I would not be at all surprised if President Obama did mean exactly what you suggested with his hand motions. I don't watch news in the evening and don't stay up late enough to see all the convention goings on, so I appreciate having such a great summary.

Michelle won the night. No wonder Orange Hitler is so afraid of her.

T's fear of being laughed at may go as far back as when his brother dumped a bowl of mashed potatoes on his head when they were kids, and T got laughed at.

Yes, those of us who also follow his niece Mary L Trump's substack (The Good In Us) are very familiar with Donald's mashed potatoes story!

The Obamas have an eloquence and stage presence that are mesmerizing. I'm glad they hit at trump specifically. He probably was up all night, raging on his Lying Social. He is a textbook weak, pathetic bully.

Expand full comment

Yep? I keep saying MAGA makes it so easy to ridicule, from maxipads on their ears to wearing adult diapers to sperm specimen jars with Couch Romeo pictures on them, they make easy targets. And every time diaperload comes out with a retort to something from KH or TW it goes gradually down to a lower grade school level maturity, from middle school to late elementary to early elementary school. A gradual descent. Can’t wait to when he gets to kindergarten.

I think he's already at or below kindergarten, and has been for a long time.

Emotionally, kindergarten. Intellectually, not much higher

Agreed. I've known young kids who are much smarter at an early age, than trump has ever been.

Dump should be laughed at, made fun of EVERY SINGLE DAY for the pain and suffering he has unleashed in this country...he is a small oaf...wanna be king...loser in all areas of life...someone you would keep your children away from...and THIS IS WHAT THE SICK DEMENTED GOP WANTS US TO BELIEVE IS PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL...ANOTHER HUGE LIE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND SHOWN EVERY DAY

Trump first mentioned “Black jobs” at the debate with President Biden and the internet ran with it immediately.

It was (and is) a beautiful thing, ridiculing the bully. Because trump is a ridiculous bully with zero principles, regardless of how the corporate directed American MSM sees him as their North Star to keeping power and growing wealth in the hands of cowardly oligarchs.

I only caught highlights of Monday's opening session, but watched most of last night. It finally feels good to be a Democrat and the convention is a reflection of that good feeling. Speakers are positive on the Harris/Walz agenda while pulling no punches slamming Trump and Vance. Let's be real, with the exception of the WHCD when Obama mercilessly roasted Trump, have we heard either he or Michelle troll the Orangeman so well? And man oh man, who didn't love that roll call? Except maybe all of the MAGA Republicans!

Best summation of last night I've yet read. Thanks!🇺🇲

I agree! I watched the speeches last night and was blown away by their mind-blowing, spot-on excellence, but Dean’s summary brought it all back home. I laughed and cheered and cried all over again! Fantastic!

Expand full comment

That speech by Michelle was a masterclass. She threw going high out the window and spoke truth to power. The best part is when she spoke about generational wealth and bankruptcies, etc, we knew who she was talking about without her ever having to say his name.

Again: OUR JOY TRIGGERS THEM.

They want us to either fear them or be sputtering mad at them. They LOVE "liberal tears." But our joy confounds them. They have no response to it.

Keep it up, joyful warriors!
