Dump and Jack Smith have presented Roberts and the Leo/McConnell Cabal with an opportunity at redemption. By ruling that Dump is not immune, and by ruling that Dump is an insurrectionist and barred from office, this partisan, hopelessly corrupt Court could quickly regain its integrity in the eyes of the American people. No one would care about Harlan Crowe or other corrupting billionaires. No one would care about Ginni Thomas. A grateful nation would breathe a collective sigh of relief.
I read many times during the J6 hearings that Liz Cheney bargained with Nancy Pelosi that she would go after Trump, but in exchange, she wanted hands off her bff Ginni Thomas. As they say, the wheels of justice turn slowly, but I do believe Ginni (& hopefully Clarence) will be made to answer for their corruption & J6 participation sooner if not later.
Ginni and Clarence are part of the DC Insider Protection Club. The Club will see to it that they are never held to account. Because if the curtain falls on them, many many others could be taken out as well. Frankly it's why Garland isn't letting Jack Smith go after members of Congress who we know were in on the plot. If he takes out Scott Perry for example, Perry will make sure he doesn't go down alone. And there will be a wealth of dirt uncovered on more than a few Democrats as well.
There is no happy ending for anyone should he win, but especially the only branch of government that CAN overrule him. No future for them if they don’t squash his candidacy.
There is no universe in the multiverse where this SCOTUS votes to keep Trump off the ballot under the 14th amendment. There will be no legal deus ex machina to save us. Even if he’s convicted in one of his criminal cases before the election, he will be able to drag the appeals process beyond it. Absent the Orange il Doche choking out on a Quarterpounder, voting for Biden is the only thing that will keep the black shirts out of the White House. Smith is doing his best, but SCOTUS is slow-walking the 1/6 case, and Cannon has put the documents case in a deep freeze. The current federal judiciary is full of corrupt GOP partisans that were raised in FedSoc nurseries. They will never rule in favor of Democrats. It’s not in their DNA.
A recent Seth Abramson stack documented that Plan B on January 6, if the “tourists” had met stout resistance at the Capitol was to march on the Supreme Court building with the idea of pressuring the Court to order the vote certification halted, notwithstanding the fact that few, if any, of the Justices would have been there at the time.
The current Justices have to know that their only means of self preservation under a second Trump term would be anticipatory obedience (to borrow Timothy Snyder’s term) to Trump’s desires in their rulings. One undesired ruling could be their last.

I agree with your reasoning. And Section 3 of the 14th Amendment is short, clear, simple and direct. And not only all that, but also this: Recent national polls are showing Haley with a 17 point lead over Biden, while Trump has only a 4 point lead over Biden. Therefore, the SCOTUS GOP justices would help the GOP's presidential chances by upholding the Colorado Supreme Court's ruling. It would be a win for our nation and the GOP would even get a boost in the 2024 presidential election. PS - I am not a Republican. But I would consider such a ruling to be favorable (and legally correct).

Your argument rests entirely on the assumptions that 5 out of 9 of SCOTUS judges would ever oppose Trump's agenda, and that they do what they do based on a commitment to an independent judiciary and not simply to enact an explicitly conservative political project.
These assumptions are at odds with the reality that 6 of these judges have politics that strongly align with Trump's, and are clearly disinterested in any judicial framework other than seizing power.
I suggest you listen to a few episodes of the 5-4 podcast.
