Trump has brought an unfathomable amount of disgrace upon this nation, and now we know for sure that approximately 1/3 of the voting public supports him. These people are unmoved by his complete depravity. They are, in fact, motivated by it. This autocrat and the movement he has inflicted on us must be crushed at the ballot box.

It is very alarming times. I sincerely did not know so many Americans would support fascism.

Neither did I, Dean. And I’m not sure many of them understand what they are supporting. They just think that Trump is going to save them from imaginary evils.

Dean, I grew up in a small town in Arkansas with Gerald L. K. Smith as a neighbor. I remember George Wallace, Orvile Faubus and neighbors admiring the KKK. So sadly it does not surprise me.

Couldn't bring myself to "like" this post because it is depressing though accurate. Well said!

That’s OK, I don’t like the situation either. The craziness is really widespread. Even in blue Colorado, there are pockets of insanity. I live in Lauren Boebert’s district, and there is still a small minority of Nazi crazies who fly confederate and Nazi flags, and you see them in public places like grocery stores in their Trump regalia. It’s just sickening, but gratefully they are minority here. One creep about five doors down from me still flies a huge.F**k Joe Biden flag on the front of his home. Nice guy, Ugh.

Sadly, just as the Sandy Hook families have been stiffed by Alex Jones, I'd be shocked if they get a dime from Rudy. He's already been pleading poverty for a while and stiffing his ex-wives, he'll be sure to stiff the ladies.

Of course. He’ll never go to jail either.

This victory can and will be used against both Rudy and the Dumpster in both Jack Smith's and Fani Wills' criminal cases.

As for future book deals, who would offer anything to Rudy? At this point he's more toxic than Trump.

I hope they sue Drumpf, too!

'Freeman and Moss didn’t deserve any of this. They do, however, deserve justice. And finally, they are seeing the first steps in that process--a process that will only end when Trump and Giuliani are behind bars for the rest of their unnatural lives.''

I've been wondering how or why all the others have got off so easily. That's all Trump does is threaten and defame people. Remember that lynching ad he took out in the NYT about those innocent five black teenagers? People who support him are not fooled. They're just like him.

Not only were those 5 boys innocent, one of them just got elected to office! I was so happy to hear that.

Me too, but I wish the media would remind everyone to not be surprised by the Fascists in our midst now.

I never forgot about those five guys in Central Park.

That was actually the basis for a great episode of "Law and Order: Criminal Intent," of course.

Trump’s MAGA crime organization & his criminality as a form of politics takes a hit: An astounding $148M verdict..sends a signal that what Giuliani/Trump 2020 election claims were “utterly false.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2023/12/15/giuliani-defamation-trial-verdict-georgia-election-workers/

Another great article, Dean, that reminds some people of what really happened. Someone who knew him well said he never saw him sober -- well, neither did I. The fine is apropriate simply because he exists. Lenny Bruce would have described him as a "putz"" On Demented Trump,: he paid actors $50 to stand applauding while he descended the golden esscalltor. (Just thought it was worth mentioning.)

I doubt they will get the money they deserve. At least, though, they are finally seeing some acknowledgement of their righteousness.

At least Rudy will spend the rest of his days forking over money to those two women, and have to sell his ritzy homes and apartments. (assuming the Bloated Yam does not take power again and save his Consigliere)

From "racket-busting DA" to bankrupted criminal....what a descent.

The cognitive dissonance is stunning when it comes to “-“‘s (45’s) sycophants and the lengths they will go to blindly do his bidding. It’s been hard for me to understand how regular folk can fall for this crap, but I recently held a social group Zoom call with a girlfriend I’ve known since high school, who has apparently gone down the rabbit hole and believes some of the shit that ghouliani and “-“ dished out after the election, including the horrible things that were made up about the GA election workers. Toward the end of the call, we were touching on what fascism was (it was supposed to be a fun, holiday cocktail hour, but didn’t turn out that way!), and she seemed really confused when I said, “Hitler was the textbook definition of a fascist”. With a puzzled look on her face, she was like, “HUH?!?”. I know for a fact that she learned about fascism in high school, with the rest of us. She is so far gone, under the spell of m-n-g-a (make nazis great again), that she hadn’t remembered that Hitler was in fact a nazi. Sad.

We talk about fascism and communism and socialism. We do not define them. I believe we need to move in the direction of definition of fascism so we have a real understanding of just what we are talking about.

The number one factor is to look at the social base of fascism. It is primarily made up members of social locations who which have a percieved stake in society that is at risk. Add to that the idealization of an "archadia"(what I like to call a "Mayberry syndrome"), plus an ideological cohesion provided by a dogmatic religion, coupled with conspiricies and "out group" social groupings like immigrants, minorities et al who can be blamed. Then you have the potential for a "charismatic" leader like Trump who becomes the emblem of what they perceive as their aspirations.

I think adding another Lawsuit to the Steaming pile is completely appropriate in this case. Even if Shaye and Lady don't "want" the money, it could be used to stock local Democratic elections.

All the elections need money for ads, research etc. Why not use the proceeds from another lawsuit to fund it.

I'm assuming they don't wan't to go through the drama and trauma of another trial, but I think they could really put a dent in the denial, and boost the cause going forward.

If the Bloated Yam gets re-elected, he will make their lives far worse...their court decision will be overturned by Presidential Executive Order, and they will likely be imprisoned without trial.
