Yes! I am so proud of Jim Acosta. I hope he has a wonderful future. We need to stop watching MSM which is owned by the oligarchs. It is all propaganda now.

Many thanks to Jim Acosta, the lone voice in the wilderness. Shame on Stelter who was formerly an honest journalist, so much so that he lost his show and was a pariah on CNN for quite awhile.

Dean, I'm glad you distilled this simple truth - "However, to be fair, it’s far more than just CNN. As I’ve long written and spoken about, corporate media is not our friend. *It’s simply a vessel to make money*." (emphasis is my own)

As for Acosta, add another tally to our growing hero column. Looking forward to his Substack.

As for heroes, each of us has the ability to be one - if we choose to do something extraordinary as ordinary people.

Thanks and as David Bowie said "We can be heroes, just for one day"- if each of us can be a hero it all adds up!

More journalists need to follow the example of Jim Acosta- I understand that putting one’s financial security on the line is frightening, but if the cost of that security is your integrity, I would hope that speaking out might win. I am struggling in my efforts to contain my anger at the individuals to blame for this disaster unfolding before us, and wonder how many already have “buyers remorse “. The return date for this purchase comes due in the form of the midterms and again in 2027.

I stopped watching CNN quite a while ago. They were awful then and are worse now. Joe Scarborough. Now there’s a guy that’s full of shit. He always was a right wing phony. His Ronald Reagan bullshit and his southern Baptist nonsense.

Yes. He showed his true colors. And btw that phony wife Mika, the same. After all the disgraceful things Trump said about them and there they were on their knees paying homage to the orange trouser trout. I will never watch that show again.

It's a shame so many corporate 'journalists' have already surrendered in advance to the dangerous felon occupying our White House. I canceled all my subscriptions to corporate media, print and cable, many years ago when I saw the obvious bias already being built in. I have no time, patience or money to give to entities who only spew propaganda. I rely on SubStack journalists, the Guardian, and a couple of foreign reads for my news and opinion. Thank you all for your dedication to informing the American citizenry honestly. I only wish more of my fellow citizens would open their eyes to the truth of our politics.

The American Prospect and The New Yorker are excellent as well.

Wow. I’m really disappointed in Brian Stelter. He got his job back and is groveling. Not what I expected from him. It’s so sad to see the media falling like dominoes before the feet of a wanna be king.

Great article. Many of us are moving to Substack to hear the truth unvarnished. Thank you Mr Obeidallah.

Fascist Liar Barbie was so totally vapid, transparent and shallow in her lies yesterday that she made Sean Spicer look good. She has her job for obvious reasons (no not those) - she's married to a real estate mogul twice her age.

Go for it, Jim Acosta! It takes more than a brittle spine to do what you're doing. It takes huevos!

Yes! We need to keep calling a lie a lie, not "smooth," or "deflecting," or misinformation or disinformation etc. She got up there and lied for Trump. The Cabinet nominees got up there and lied for Trump. Just because they say something true once in a while doesn't mean they're not all a pack of liars.

Mr. Obeidallah I really appreciate you highlighting Nr. Acosta's bravery. Imagine how wonderful it would be if just half of those filling our airwaves pretending to be journalists walk away from the comfort of their corporate media jobs and began doing the jobs they signed up for. To report the facts to the American people so they may be properly make informed choices when they vote for those who will represent them. I will hold out hope Mr. Acosta is just the beginning. Keep up the great and necessary work

Thank you, Dean. I follow you, share your posts, will donate when it's possible. My husband was injured on the job and Oregon's SAIF is a delay - deny wc insurer. Barring charitable intervention, even the giant survival loans we took out are almost gone and we may not be able to pay rent in March. Those loans leave us with the inability even to consolidate: No lender, so far, will consolidate. SAIF is like that regardless of who is in the White House. And they have the nerve to be "not for profit."

People unable to work due to their injuries and denied recovery care by SAIF often end in financial ruin. "I have clients sleeping in their cars."

I hope we can soon donate to you and other courageous and effective souls. Thank you for your service 🙏 ❤️

We should have more talent leave corporate media in a spectacular fashion. That would be a silver lining for the dark clouds ahead. That won’t happen though.
