"If Trump does increasingly become incompetent, they will simply manipulate him behind the scenes to fulfill their right-wing dreams such as turning Project 2025 into law." This, I am sure, they are already counting on.

The MAGAs don't even need to 25th Amendment the Orangeman to make him a PINO. Give him the office, give him the Diet Cokes, give him the Adderall and let him play golf every day. He can issue the daily bullshit executive order from the first tee. Vance and the others (Bannon & MIller) will be running the show regardless. And that should scare the shit out of everyone.

It’s more likely that Musk and Thiel would be the ‘shadow government’. They’re the ones who are not eligible, but they still want the power.

Which means our country under the control of foreigners. Foreigners but WHITE foreigners who propagandize against the foreign invasions.

We will have two Godzillas running around fire breathing death and destruction.

Very interesting exposé of the 25th amendment. Trump is not in good shape, but I'm certain he would fight against any efforts to remove him from office. The whole idea of trump being back in office is really scary, for all the reasons you mentioned. Somehow I don't think there would be much sanity left in our country if he did get back into office.

Susan in all respect to you, I will just state that trump is a fool; he is too dumb to know when he would be manipulated. His puppet masters would not want to remove his name just his effectiveness/performance as President: which THEY would control; sadly to the negative destruction of US the righteous LEFT folks of these United States.

I know, Ray, and I agree with you. I am concerned about how the rest of us would survive if trump were re-elected.

Stone, I hear and agree with you; I feel the same. I have determined, if that DEVIL steals the election; I will just keep voting BLUE but with a SILENT voice. I am retired/70+ there is not much more the country can do to hurt me. I pray for OUR country.

Ray, I'll be 80 on my next birthday, and as a female, I am worried about what the country can do to hurt me. One thing that comes to mind is mass deportations that would probably take out a lot of my medical providers (I live right on the border with Mexico, and our population is about 85% hispanic). I will continue to vote blue, assuming we still have elections.

I’ve been saying this since Vance, Peter Thiel’s puppet, was nominated. The Republican’s just love their puppet politicians.

Trump puppet… you mean like having him dress up as a fry cook?

Reagan was my dissertation. It was clear that he never recovered from the assassination attempt in 1981. The 1984 campaign was run as a series of day trips, so he could be back in the WH at night, because he was disoriented. Trump is in far worse shape now. He's a walking Woodrow Wilson. He'll be Peter Thiel's puppet, Putin too!

Dear God. What a nightmarish scenario to contemplate 😞

It's really terrifying to think about what could happen in the very near future, should the orange Mussolini's tiny brain become totally short-circuited. There should really be a mandatory health check done on ALL aspiring presidential candidates. This is just far too important to allow the country to go through these types of chaotic events. In this era, it's actually dangerous!

The voting public has a right to KNOW if their candidates for the office of the president are physically and mentally able to withstand the rigors of the job.

I repeat, WHY has this orange monster even been allowed to RUN, he's a convicted FELON ffs! That alone MUST be a disqualification for anyone.

Heaven help us 🙏

I keep hoping a KFC chicken bone gets stuck in his aorta and that's that. But first, we need to make sure the tech-bro empire doesn't get the chance to enact their shadow presidency scenario; then we need to raise the requirements of the job of POTUS to include mental fitness and previous political experience.

Trump being PINO is their plan even without his dementia or the 25th amendment. JD was always going to be busy in the background. That’s why Kamala’s well deserved election has always been critical! Let’s get this done and smile along the way!

Peter Thiel and his Supreme Tech-Bro Council do want a President Vance, who is already groomed by them and ready to go. They are all sick of Trump's stupid vulgarity, but he's a god in the eyes of enough people to put the election within stealing distance, so the tech-bros can still use him for now. Hence Musk dancing around like a dope on stage for Trump and greasing the skids with possibly illegal tranches of his millions.

No question. He was little more than a front man for his handlers the first time around. This time, he'll be unlikely to stay in office for his first full year before we have a president Vance.

I have a seriously hard time believing that the majority of republicans in congress would be willing to admit their guy is too crazy for office, and them going along with a 25th amendment removal.

Expand full comment

That's the thing about removal by 25th Amendment - it's actually harder than impeachment.. Setting aside all the preliminaries, the series of "You're unable to serve", "no I'm not", "yes you are" letters, the final step is that 2/3 of each house has to vote him out. Impeachment is "only" 1/2 (+1) of the House and 2/3 of the Senate.

I’m sure his bosses would rather keep him as puppet-in-chief than try to drag him kicking and screaming from the Oval Office, but they may find themselves with little choice. Reagan’s public persona was genial, he was easier to stage-manage, and his dementia appeared both less advanced and less aggressive in 1984 than Trump’s is now.

Trump (and his self-motivated “loyalists”) would surely fight any early efforts to oust him on grounds of dementia. But some combination of a face-saving excuse, a plenary pardon, a large covert payoff and the threat of public exposure could be persuasive.
