Well, Trump may have been president but former (original) lead guitarist of The Grateful Dead and certified veterinary neurosurgeon George Santos invented the Lithium-ion battery, Cubism, and the chimichanga. What has Trump ever done?

Sir Wellstone. With all due respect you omit Senator turned VP to Empire Al Gore invented the internet!

Such wealth of information on the wonders of the world we have silo'd in universities while the peer-reviewed inmates of these hallowed halls and institutions are not permitted to interrupt our Distraction Industry and auctioned off "Public's Airwaves" of broadcasting....

Great read, hadn’t thought about the implications of a Santos expulsion on the view of Trump’s crimes. I do think that there are about 90 GOP members who have said they’ll vote to expel Santos at this point, so it seems like a pretty done deal. They just have Trump on such a pedestal though that maybe he’s the only one allowed to commit such an overwhelming amount of crime. Maybe this expulsion, however, will bring some to understand how embarrassing it would be to have someone with such a terrible track record in a high position of power.

Thanks but Don't count on the expulsion. It could happen but if MAGA has it's way they won't expel Santos

I would say Democrats could run on this. Simply "list" the crimes with a clever tag line.

There is little to no difference between the ethics of George Santos, trump & the entire GOP. https://samray.substack.com/p/the-george-santos-gop-catch-us-if

I was wrong- but now the House GOP has given us great ammunition versus Trump. 114 House Republicans voted to expel George Santos as being unfit to serve because he was charged with 23 felonies. Well Donald Trump is charged with 91 FELONIES- that is four times that number of crimes Santos was charged with. So how can any of those House Republicans still support Trump?!! The media must ask about this!!

They absolutely will not expel him for all the reasons you have stated, and that gives Democrats even more leverage to show how the Republicans refuse to hold themselves to higher standards as representatives of the people.

Well, he's gone. 105 GOPs crossed over the Styx to cast their vote and send Georgie back to Long Island.

If the GOP fails to expel Santos, then WE will "expel" him, and those like him, one way or another.

Perhaps but not necessarily. I think he will not be expelled because the GQP doesn’t want to lose the seat. They have contradicted ethical decisions for years without batting an eye. For example, look at their block and rush for Supreme Court justice seats. I believe one issue could expel him. Republicans do not like gay people.

"What is Curious George supposed to represent?'

Curious George is certainly a book that supports unjust power dynamics, obedience in the face of subjugation, and kidnapping. It also exists in the context of a time when art, writing, and propaganda had been making these symbolic connections between Race and monkeys/apes. Jul 12, 2020."

Well, so much for art imitating a monkey's life! Not so much for the Ape-like antics of Scurrilous "George" Santos.

Epilogue: How does Curious George end?

He goes to jail and floats over the city holding balloons. Finally at the end of the book, The Man in the Yellow Hat leaves George at the zoo, but readers know he won't stay there long.Sep 9, 2020.

See! There is hope........just don't bet on it!

It's not just their Trump problem. Jack Smith is closing in on Scott Perry, the Republican insurrectionist from Pennsylvania, who may turn out to have been the hub of the conspiracy in the House. And if Smith is finally getting serious about the Congressional conspirators, a whole lot more of them are implicated. Expelling Santos sets a precedent that Republicans cannot afford to set right now.

That said, MAGA Mike and other GQP House leaders may find a way to bribe or otherwise persuade Santos to quit so that they don't have to vote to save him, handing the Democrats, especially in Biden districts, another hammer to hit them with during the 2024 campaign.

And yet they did expel him….Hmmm, and what about Mr. Menendez... we should cleanse both parties of their ethical faults.

Today is the day to expel Santos. Expect fireworks.

Interesting analysis, but the GOP’s love affair with herr Trump is a different dynamic than the same body’s distaste for the pathological antics of a junior weirdo. Los Don wields an inordinate amount of credit in the First National Bank of Despotism. Lil Georgie is a greeter at the Valley Stream Savings Bank (no disrespect to Valley Streamers). His account can be closed and repercussions to the House majority will be nil as will any moral effects. That’s just their version of being ethical.

Each time each party votes on floor, has debates. Our house and Senate show who they are today..

“ if Santos is not voted out( it’s not about him being innocent till proven guilty)( many of the facts are already on record).”

Is it not about having someone functioning as a legal representative of HOUSE?

I had to have a license to practice my field. There’s a structure in place where that has to be done BEFORE TIME; to be legal.

If he’s not voted out?( then we already have our answers to how serious many of HOUsE Reps take their job.

)

It’s not longer about the ppl!!
