Fantastic that she and her team are aggressively going on offensive.

One word I'd like to see in more attacks on TFG is “corrupt”. There are a hundred obvious examples of his corruption in office, and Project 2025 is a recipe for rampant presidential corruption, exercising executive authority in order to give out favors to favored friends and companies while punishing those who don’t politically suck up.

This November presents two options:

Prosecutor or Criminal.

You can choose only one.

That's why I already have this "Prosecutor or Criminal 2024" t-shirt 👇 🤣

The prosecutor should be chosen over the felon!

Period.

I am really glad that Kamala is telling the truth about trump, getting it out there to large numbers of people. She is proving that having a history as a prosecutor - a very serious prosecutor - is a good thing, something we need to finally topple trump. Now, if only the misogyny would stop…

Expand full comment

It won’t. It’s just built into the right’s narrative. I friend of mine, John Shore, writes HEY BOOMER here on Substack and his suggestion was, in light of all the DEI tropes, we respond with, “You mean as opposed to all the WPA(White Penis Advantage)that has stifled others from being able to get ahead”, or words to that effect. Check it out. I think he’s on to something here. By the way, John is another writer originally from California but who moved to my hometown of Asheville, N.C. and who had a job writing for the Asheville Citizen-Times. Like so many others all around the country, he found himself out of a job when the venerable hometown paper was bought by USA Today and the newsroom eventually gutted.

Expand full comment

I know it won't, I just wish it would because it is totally undeserved. It's really sad that even with their WPA, so many men are so insecure. Love the term WPA. It's about time someone expressed it that way. Too bad about the Asheville paper - Asheville is a very nice place and it deserves better.

I have been sick of the Democratic Party as a party of wimps for years. I was pissed that Obama wasted the first two years of his presidency trying to play nice—nice with the obviously deranged Repugnants. I can remember the odious . Newt Gingrich stalling Clinton left and right with poisonous rhetoric and Dems keep trying to rise above it. I have been demoralized for years and long ago became an independent.

During the last election a neighbor was a precinct chair and talked me into rejoining the Dems and working hard on the election. I worked hard and among other things helped get senator Sinema elected. That didn’t turn out very well did it?

After this election I was going to return to the independents frustrated by the wimps and disgusted by the Republicans.

But now we have a fighter. I have reopened my checkbook and going to Democratic meeting this afternoon to again become involved.

I supported Kamala in 2019 and just love her now. She is a fighter and I’m very happy to get back into the trenches with her knowing I’m with a leader that does not stay in the trenches accepting gas warfare but actually fights this disgusting enemy of Democracy.

Good for you. You just nailed the political asymmetry of America now. The left (especially Obama and Biden) tries/tried to unite the country, tried to work together, because of who they are but also because they understand that's how democracy works best. The right wing has for years only quested for dominion so they take no prisoners, and truthfully have messaged so effectively in brainwashing the low information and fearful. Racism, misogyny, xenophobia, LGBTQ phobia are all powerful tools. I agree that Sinema turned out to be a huge disappointment, but also have heard that she did a lot of bipartisan work on consequential bills, some of which were passed. Well, it's academic now. Onward with Ruben Gallego!

I remember a quote from the physicist/philosopher Karl Popper that aligned with my beliefs. On tolerance He said that one does not tolerate those that want to kill you.

Absolutely. If they seek your destruction, no compromises. Too bad our democracy does not work that way. I lay the blame on the conservatives for how divided we are.

Dems share in the complicity. We, Dems, have been heavily influenced by the Latte Liberals who live is a space of idealism with little to no understanding or real compassion to those suffering under the weight of elitism.

Finally Democrats are waking up from the Neo Liberal nightmare, which rejected lots of economically succesful policies from before the 80's.

Forgotten were the lessons learnt to limit the power of the (very) rich as well as companies (monopolies, conglomerates, vertical integration etcetera).

Thank you. That term entered my head a long time ago picturing many shows where liberals were sitting around discussing the advantages of shipping our industrial capacity to countries with lower wages, like China. How did that work out.

As for the former workers in these former factories they discussed how the liberals would the bewfound unemployed by offering free job training, learning new skills like computer programming. I realized these elites had absolutely no comprehension of the life culture in these formerly industrialized areas.

For me, this is where I saw incipient rage against the Dems. Thank you Bill Clinton.

I am desperately hoping that after Dumpy loses and Pres. Harris is sworn in, Jack Smith or some other bulldog will become AG, appeal Cannon's dismissal of Dumpy's ESPIONAGE CASE, and get it tried by a judge who's not kissing Dumpy's backside. Dumpy will have to leave his jail cell (from his fraud conviction) to stand trial for espionage. Plus, a recording of a phone conversation between Dumpy and Aileen Cannon will be released where he promises her a seat on SCOTUS in exchange for the dismissal of his case. I too dream impossible dreams.

VP Harris needs to keep pounding on the following points:

1. Trump incited and encouraged an attempted coup. He is an insurrectionist and a traitor. January 6th was an attempt to overthrow our government, abrogate the Constitution, and destroy our democracy.

2. Trump is a convicted sex offender.

3. Trump is a fraud and a convicted felon, 34 times over.

4. Trump has bribed big oil: "Give me a billion dollars and I'll get rid of environmental protection laws."

5. Trump has threatened to eliminate voting. Really.

6. Trump bragged that he got rid of Roe. It's time to stop talking about "abortion" (because nobody likes abortion and no one likes to talk about it) and start talking about how the republicans took away the right to personal bodily autonomy for women. No one likes abortion, but everyone cares about their right to personal autonomy. Pound on that. (God, Dems are so bad at messaging. No wonder the GOP has controlled the political narrative since the days of Reagan.)

That should be enough for starters. Now let's win this thing. Go, Kamala!!! We're not going back.

Expand full comment

I agree. Reproductive health care and bodily autonomy are not euphemisms they are the essence and the issue. Abortion is only a small part of the issue.

But as they begin the over play their hand with birth control and IVF restrictions their real agenda—controlling women—is becoming more obvious. Keep shining the light into the darkness.

Jim, I had the same experience with my local Dem group. A bunch of old people stuck in their rut. They thought a yearly bingo party that raised $2000 was plenty of action! At the fair, they hid at their booth and handed out silly buttons with weak statements and whispered behind their hands "there's more democrats in this area but we don't like to stand out"

I finally said screw this, and went rogue. I fly Biden (now Harris) flags proudly in my yard. Signs by my mailbox. Stickers on my cars. People knock on my door and say "thanks, but aren't you afraid? " I tell them "Why are you letting them frighten you? They aren't right, and you are!" It's small, but I try and plant that seed every time.

Excellent read Dean. That Kamala Harris is taking the fight to them is exactly what the Democrats need to beat this fraudster in Orange face paint. Everything he did cannot and should not be normalized… It should be exposed and put on every billboard, election ad, and flyers sent to homes throughout the country, to those that forgot about this grifter, criminal, fraudster, rapist, liar, and inciter of violence. Just a little reminder of what’s at stake in our election.

Do we want a Convicted Felon to attempt to ruin our democracy, OR do we want a competent person with a record of righting wrongs running things for our country?

Personally, I think it’s more than that. It’s bigger than just the media not calling out his lies. His threats. It’s bigger than what Kamala is doing. More than all of us are capable of doing. All of Trump’s mega donors have total control over the media. And of Trump himself. That’s why he is doing what he’s doing. No one can control what he says and does except his backers. The closer we get to the election, the worse it’s going to get. All of the people behind Project 2025 are behind it. They aren’t going to let a woman of any color win over them. They intend to minimize women as they are more scared of Kamala and her followers and they have no intention to allow them to mess up their plans. Call me crazy. A defeatist. I am far from it. Well, maybe a little bit. 😜 I am scared.😱 Terrified. But it’s hard to understand the massive support they have, unless they are all involved. I am totally behind Kamala. I believe in her. I support her in every way I can. I only hope others see it for what it is. The media isn’t going to help. They are not independent. They are bought and paid for. This is deep shit. 💩
