Sadly, I'm old enough to remember a time when our disagreements "stopped at the water's edge" when it came to international conflicts. We tried to put aside our political differences and focus on our shared value and shared defense as Americans.

That is yet another casualty of the hard right turn of the Republican Party and the elevation of MAGA terrorists and their sophists in Congress...

I’m old enough to remember all this as well, Larry. Today’s Republican party is a disastrous combination of the worst possible traits in the human species.

Thanks for this excellent analysis, Dean. Like Trump, these people lie with every breath they take. They are the greatest danger this democracy has faced from within since the Civil War. There’s been some other breaking news, but I’m not sure it’s being widely reported. I’m posting this link to a Substack article by Seth Abramson. He cites reliable sources that indicate Egyptian intelligence officials contacted Netanyahu 10 days before this attack warning them that something “unusual and terrible“ was being planned by Hamas from the Gaza area. The Egyptians were apparently stunned by Netanyahu’s lack of response to and interest in the information.

Thanks Janet. I appreciate it. We are faced with a GOP whose DNA is disinformation. We can not believe anything they say. Nothing.

Republicans broke the House so nothing can be passed to help Israel. Tommy Tuberville broke the Senate so that military readiness is degraded. Ted Cruz and Rand Paul broke the Senate so the State Department is degraded. Trump passed classified intelligence to Putin and the Saudis while in office and likely from the trove of documents he stole. Tell me again how the Hamas attack is Biden's fault?

This is why the Republicans are so stupid. These people need to elect smarter people.

The problem is they don't exist.

So far all three GOP front runners for house speaker including the former speaker have disqualified themselves from any Democratic "help".

The two parties that make up the GOD awful Orange Party need to splinter openly for true democracy to prevail.

The Trumplican GOP

The Reagan GOP

Since they are functionally separate in all but name it is high time they formally split. The Southern Democrats did so in the late 1940's. Time the Trumplicans and Reaganites part ways.

Once again the GOP is preying off their constituent's ignorance of the facts. Once again the GOP is actively disseminating disinformation. Nothing new.

The best weapon against these terrorists' strategies, is to use turnabout tactics, using the same weapon the GOP has been using to indoctrinate their followers with falsehoods. Only, we have to repeat the actual facts over and over again, ad nauseum until they become widely accepted social beliefs. It's a moral imperative. We have to call out media for whitewashing the truth, whenever possible and saturate right wing media, misinformed church goers and internet search engines with the truth, until it drowns out all the disinformation generated by all the rebellious malcontents and other enemies of the US, both foreign and domestic. Information warfare is the main weapon that has still kept Trump, and many of his collaborators' races, competitive, truth saturation is their Achilles heal.

The base doesn’t have the intellectual capacity to discern between chum and facts, so , this useless “representative of the people” just says whatever feeds the fools.

I feel for you Deano! Too close to home.

Religion is the reason I am an avowed Atheist, so I will stay out of this one!

Best of luck.
