The fact that he’s not already behind bars is special treatment. Where would you or I be if the government found these documents in our possession?

Were you only the magistrate presiding today, we Americans would feel much safer.

But if I were the Magistrate I would not have time to write articles for Substack :)

It amazes me that bail is even an option, if any one of us had done anything remotely like this, we would be in jail now. I am just waiting for the other shoe to drop...who knows what has already been sold. Reality Winner was in jail for how long for what charges? lI am ashamed to be an American because we elected a reality tv person. I saw my 93 yr old former mother in law on Sunday & she said he is such a good business man, & I told her that no, he wasn't he filed bankruptcy 8 times. I also told her my Grandma lived outside of Alantic City when he screwed all those trades ppl. We have to be sure that the ppl who asked for pardons are removed from their positions, ie Scott Perry who represents me in the House. I live in the heart of Magat land in south central PA & I am afraid for this democracy

Does Walt walk out with Donald?

This man deserves no special treatment but yet gets the most specialist of treatment. Did you see the size of his motorcade?!! What we are allowing this man to get away with is unconscionable.

I think they're being cagey. I think they've wired all of Trump's residences for sound, so they can find the rest of the papers that are still missing and I wouldn't be surprised if good old Walter was wearing a wire.

Bail is to secure the defendant's appearance at trial. The glaring difference in your examples is the Secret Service. It is not a non-zero chance Trump shakes them, but it is close. The others in your comparison had no such 'monitoring'.

The secret service is to protect trump. Not turn him over to the authorities. In other cases obviously ankle monitors could’ve been used.

I fully understand that. Yet the presence of the Secret Service who tracks their charges would prevent him from sneaking out of the US. Not that Trump would survive long on his own with no golden toilet.

Agree in the ankle bracelets.

@Dean Obeidallah Prosecuting Donald Trump could have a chilling effect on future presidents’ ability to break the law and brag about it on tape. 50 years ago (June 13 1973, Former Nixon’s aide invoke the 5th amendment before grand jury).

1-2 Hours from now, big(gest) circus on earth (after OJ Simpson) today. Donald Trump will be arraigned at the courthouse downtown.

The lead defendant in 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘷. 𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘮𝘱, no. 9:23-cr-80101 (S.D. Fla.).

Mike Pompeo hammers Trump on Fox: “Trump had classified docs when he shouldn’t have had them, and when given the opportunity to return them he chose not to do that .. That’s inconsistent with protecting America’s soldiers .. some of these were pretty serious, important docs.”

“Any normal person would have been indicted a year or more ago, immediately indicted. he get lucky because POTUS45”

What kind of circus will follow?

Prominent lawyer leads calls for Trump’s trial to be televised Even though he's facing a bunch of federal crimes he still wants to be on television. Most celebrities don't want that, but he does.

The chief clerk of the federal court system South Florida, Angela E. Noble, confirmed that Judge Aileen M. Cannon would continue to oversee the case unless she recused herself. Certain factors increased the odds she'd get it. Cannon has the case for the duration absent any recusal.

Trump legal woes by the numbers:

17 (felonies for which his business was convicted)

5 million (dollars ordered to pay for sexually abusing Jean Carroll)

34 (New York felony counts)

37 (federal felony counts)

2 (potential future indictments)

Countless (former Trump lawyers)

With full of consciousness, Donald Trump and Michael Cohen planning a felony in Oval Office. No kidding.

I'm not sure about the other one, but anyone hinting at reality has to be locked up. It's un-american!

“No man is above the law.”

Well, put your money where your mouth is. Where would tfg be right now if he weren’t a candidate? (hint: in jail) I predict he will be granted bail, and not only that, he will not surrender his passport. This is special treatment to the max, and appears to place him above the law. Yet, he (and his supporters) scream that this is politically motivated by the Dems to influence the 2024 election. (I’m still waiting for them to explain how the Dems managed to get tfg’s own lawyers and employees to go along with this scheme, and perjure themselves to the grand jury.) If that were the case, he would be sitting in a jail cell right now.

All of this makes me sick to my stomach; pass the antacids, please.
