There is no deal the McCarthy will make with the Democrats that they can trust him to uphold. He is a liar, a snake and a weak kneed weasel and will renege on any deal at the earliest possible moment. Just as the MAGA nutbags, they will tell you what McCarthy's promises are worth. The right deal for the Democrats to make is with the 18 Republicans who represent Biden districts. They should agree to change registration to independent and support Jeffries for Speaker, definitively ending the reign of the MAGA terrorists. They are going to lose their seats in 2024 anyway. This might actually save a couple of them. And for those that are not saved, at least they go out with their honor and dignity intact.
It may be entertaining to watch but is not good for the American people. This chaos could shut down the government. This will give Trump an edge due to the poor economy that will result from a shutdown. The American people will blame the man in office because they are not savvy enough to see the obvious.
I think it all depends on what happens when Gaetz brings his motion to vacate forward. Do the MAGA crazies back him up even though there is NO alternative in the Republican caucus to McCarthy? Do the Democrats vote to kick him out because of the sham impeachment inquiry? There is no scenario in which McCarthy survives with more clout than the no clout he has today.
And I agree, there is little chance that the 18 Republicans will do the right thing. They are, after all, Republicans.
It is time for Democrats to put all the pressure they can on this. Start advertising the REPUBLICAN shut down possibilities so that those words are out there and repeated by all left media sources. Spell out how the shut down hurts people in short detail. Any time there is an inch of space to kick the MAGA-scum-cult in the ass, do so. They have been doing this to Democrats, in earnest, for 40 years. But, of course, Republicans with Fascist tendencies goes back much further.
Democrats must fight dirty and hard from now on. Call their bluffs, none of their policies of removing rights & promoting hatred is wanted by the large majority of Americans. Show our numbers!

I'm glad the Democrats are finally going to act like politicians and get something out of a deal. They have some leverage here and they need to go for it.
There were reasons why Dems unanimously voted against a McCarthy speakership and we need to remember exactly what they were. Mind you, that was before he outright broke the deal on funding the government and invoking an impeachment inquiry into President Biden. Not only is this a man who really doesn't care about his constituents, based on his track record thus far, he doesn’t care about the Americans people and is third in line for the presidency. Does he have the spine or the character of someone who s/b the leader of the free world? I think not! 100% certain that his first act with that authority would be to pardon the orange cheeto.
