Unfortunately it was reported that Chuck Schumer made comments that were obviously supporting Menendez and wholly inappropriate. I dont know the exact words but eluded to the Senator s ‘ honorable’ career . Well no longer honorable is still not honorable career . Need to rethink this Chuck lest we think you’re working under the assumption that corruption like this is ever honorable.
What Schumer said was: "“Bob Menendez has been a dedicated public servant and is always fighting hard for the people of New Jersey. He has a right to due process and a fair trial," Schumer said in a statement." That is not in the same universe as what GOP said in response to charges versus Trump.
Schumer has been, in my opinion, a total bust as majority leader, unwilling or unable to wield the power of the office in support of the Democratic agenda. He has allowed himself to be played by Manchin and Sinema, and now comes out in support of Menendez, a guy who should have been tossed overboard the last time he was indicted for federal corruption. This time it's even more clear that he needs to go, and he needs to go now so that a Democrat can be named to the seat who will then run in 2024 as an incumbent.
Later today, I will call the office of Senator Menendez to ask him to resign. We need a Senator to represent our state without the major distraction of multiple indictments.
Shamefully for the Dems, their immediate capitulation to righting the wrongs of their own is shown as "WEAKNESS" to the right and the red meat base of the GOP/GQP/NAZI parties we're dealing with at the moment, IE., the subsequent resignation and dismissal of Senator Al Franken for nothing more than a comedy skit screenshot and unfounded alledged allegations of sexual misconduct.
