I only watch msnbc on tv, and read on substack, and check foreign papers, and the Meidas Touch (those boys are excellent and have a higher viewership than foxy Faux News!)

I have heard some good negative coverage of trump on MSNBC - like Nicolle Wallace talking to Michael Cohen yesterday. And Lawrence O'Donnell is always scathing. I have seen good conversations (again on Deadline Whitehouse) about the negative impacts of all the draconian abortion bans. And I do see some coverage of Kamala Harris, but it has seemed to decrease, even on the good shows. Hearing so much about trump leaves me feeling depressed. That means he is sucking all the oxygen out of the joy Harris is spreading. I hope and pray that we do not end up with a redo of 2016.
We keep the joy going and we keep talking to people who are undecided and maybe a few who think they have decided already. Keep going strong to the end.
Deadline Whitehouse today started out with Kamala Harris' rally in Pittsburgh. I am really pleased that they have been airing her rallies. I am also pleased to see that she is stating very specifically what she wants to accomplish as President.
The MSM are doing their level best to help Trump at every turn. It's not enough for the NY Times to print an OP-ED that excoriates Trump and says he's unfit for office, but then they print articles supporting him. They want Trump to win because long term that's what helps them.
They can stage fake wwf battles while actually helping each other profit!

It’s like the media’s fascination with the Kardashians, the “Real Housewives” of various upper-crust lifestyles, (never the “Real Housewives of the Polo Grounds Housing Project”), spoiled children of famous people who star in reality shows, the Gotti family and other organized crime figures, musicians who engage in anti-social behavior (and their entourage, which packs more firepower than 45 Royal Marine Commando), and something called “Snooki.”
It’s transitory, though. The media has forgotten Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Paris Hilton, for example. The latter just did a memoir, which told us that her image as a dopey slattern was just that — an image — and she was the victim of sexual abuse while growing up.
I’m actually furious with how many famous women are victims of sexual abuse. I have only read of two famous women who have anything good to say about sex: Dana Delaney and Courtney Love.
All the rest seem to have been victims of rape. It really upsets me. What the hell’s wrong with men?

I always look forward to Monday night with Jen Psaki and Rachel Maddow. This week Jen Psaki had Gretchen Carlson as a panelist, as if she had anything useful or meaningful to say to the audience. That was a choice, an unforced error in my opinion.
It’s clear that the oligarchs who control corporate media are calling the shots. At a minimum they want to maximize revenue by making sure every race is a horse race. At worst they hope to own the government and impose their own agenda, as per Project 2025.

Wouldn't it seem that Kamala Harris' meteoric rise following her abrupt entry into the presidential race would be a big story? But the media is drawn to spectacle, not news. And circus clown Trump is adept at this one thing--supplying the media with the spectacle they need for content. In fact, we all end up doing it.
Love your writing but aren't you just adding to the issue? I understand the need to educate people about Corporate Media's tilt toward Trump but I would really love to see more info about the Harris/Walz campaign and their policies. I feel like the more he is discussed the more pull he has. He wants the attention. Let's deprive him of what he wants.
