Trump and his minions are going to throw everything at her, be it out of desperation or of absolute malice, or both. Actually they are already starting by passing an Article of Impeachment against her in regards to the border issue, in which she really had no part. They are also trying (in vain, I think) to keep her from accessing the funds contributed to the Biden-Harris campaign by means of a FEC complaint and perhaps a lawsuit.

Hopefully, Harris and the Democrats are ready to counter everything Trump and MAGA throw their way.

I already ordered this "Prosecutor or Criminal" t-shirt πŸ‘‡

Vote Kamala. Vote Blue. 😊

I had long ago figured that if Kamala was the nominee, or got elected, the republican house would try to impeach her. But impeaching a vice president, who is responsible for none of the final policy decisions? It makes me want to throw up. Fortunately I have faith in Kamala as a fighter, as well as a very smart, savvy person. And from what I've seen the Democrats are all fired up about her candidacy, so I'm thinking they will all fight for her. The lawsuit you mention should go nowhere, because all the votes for Biden were also votes for her. As I understand it, from a legal standpoint, she has the right to use those campaign funds, where an outsider would not.

Expand full comment

Not only that, but she has a tidy treasure chest in her own right at this point. The Dems could use the Last In First Out method of accounting or simply allocate the funds raised "for" Biden on ads where he speaks on behalf of Kamala and the Democratic program. But it's a stupid argument that somehow only he can use the funds. Damn paternalistic when you get down to it.

How much did adding Vance to the ticket raise?

Expand full comment

I'll bet the answer is zilch… I know nothing about accounting, but I do know that she is legally entitled to use those funds because she was part of the original ticket.

Since the right is loaded with guns, be careful when wearing it.

Language matters! As one of those Democrats who votes in primaries (and every chance I get) I’m very pleased that we have had a peaceful transfer from Joe to Kamala. Let’s keep our eyes wide open and save this country from the would-be dictator.

Me too. I voted for Joe AND Kamala in the primary.

Trump thought putting JD Vance in the VP slot was a coup since he was the most likely to organize the next coup.

I wondered this too. Waiting for a debate with future VP candidate to see where the fly lands this time.

Well, flies are attracted to shit!

They certainly do. I wonder who combs out trumps hair at night. They must get combat pay.

Hilarious, Patris! Caught your humor there.

"Republican" is not the right name for that party; they should be called the Imperialist Party, to be accurate. That matches their sentiments regarding race and class, and explains why they have an attitude of "do as I say, not as I do". Laws are made by them to apply to their inferiors.

I’d like for to change Democrat to Democracy Party and GOP to Autocracy Party. That would make it clear what we are voting for.

Czarist would also work.

This will be the 59th presidential election, but it will be the first with a prosecuting attorney vs a criminal defendant. With a jury of 160 million.

The projection party comes through again. Accusing Democrats of a β€œcoup”? Every accusation is a confession, right? Trying to muddy the meaning of the word. πŸ€”πŸ˜‰πŸ˜Š

Expand full comment

"Projection" is right! Aside from so many other things, they can't muster even the slightest originality in their accusations!

I guess that's what happens when there is zero material to work with, and yet unconditional, mindless aggressiveness.

I am one who is not happy over Biden dropping out. It still makes me angry that a poor debate performance, when he was jet lagged and ill, was the main reason for trying to get him to drop out. That said, the final decision was his, it was his choice, and for good reasons. What the republicans are again doing is projection, in addition to denying the truth of what happened thanks to the "leader" of their party. I find myself wishing that all the magats would really go live on another planet (a real one) and let the US get back to sanity.

I have mixed feelings. FYI I supported and contributed to Harris in 2019 and I think she is great.

I think I understand. I'm very concerned about the misogyny and racial slurs that will be inevitable (they've already started). That said, I know she's a fighter and am certain she won't let felons and bullies get to her. I also think that she's been enough of a partner to Biden that she knows something about how to be president.

She won’t take any shit from the Repugnants. Looking forward to her debating Dumbass Donny.

You and me, both. The very idea makes me laugh.

This is what happens when you let people completely get away with an actual attempted coup, which, by the way, will pale in comparison to the one that’s coming when they lose again.

When the DOJ and Biden didn’t aggressively pursue ALL of the criminal conspirators, and not just the foot soldiers, they opened us up for the whole mess we are in.

Chris, I’m still furious at Susan Collins, Mitch McConnel, and a host of other elected officials who refused to impeach Donald Trump. Also furious at Senators for passing Kavanaugh for Supreme Court.

I fear for what they are planning when Harris wins in November.

Senator Cotton committed sedition in 2019 by sending a letter to the Iranian government telling them that if trump were to take office they could expect the US to pull out of the US Iran Nuclear Deal.

Trump was President from Jan 2017 to Jan 2020. Trump took us out of the Iran deal in 2018. Facts matter.

The MAGGOTS in the Fascist Freedom Caucus are such a bunch of sore pathetic losers, and in their own Great Leaders words are having a really "HARD TIME" with Kamala Harris. Now the "Orange Turd" is really going to find out what a "HARD TIME" feels like!

All us primary voters voted for a ticket that included (checks notes) Kamala. It is up to us, not the desperate GOP, to decide whether to accept the choice we made on that ticket in another role.

Well, to a dictator wannabe like Trump and his fake hillbilly toady Vance? Making a decision that takes more into account than YOU must be a "coup"!

So, how much luck are the Republicans having with trying to keep Kamala Harris for President off the ballot...?

What BS that MAGA give a damn about democratic processes and disenfranchising voters! They really should know that we know they're all about grabbing power by force.
