Psychologist warns that corporate media is covering up Trump’s dementia
Trump is getting worse by the day!
Donald Trump’s cognitive decline is “undeniable.” Those were the words of Dr. John Gartner—founder of “Duty To Warn”— in my interview this week. Gartner then rightfully slammed corporate media for refusing to cover this. An emphatic Gartner noted, “We're in this crazy situation where the mad king has so much power that nobody wants to report on the fact that he's mad!”
Gartner has been raising red flags about Trump’s mental decline for years. In the lead up to the 2024 election, I interviewed Dr. Gartner twice about Trump’s obvious cognitive slide. In April 2024, he explained that “we're noticing deterioration almost every day” with Trump.
By the time of our October 2024 conversation, Trump’s cognitive decline had become so apparent that more than 500 licensed mental health professions—including best-selling authors and well-respected psychologists—warned that Trump was exhibiting signs of dementia. Gartner stated point blank on my show about a month before the 2024 election: “I honestly believe that if Trump were to get re-elected that he would become completely incapacitated in office.”
Now six months into Trump’s second term, I wanted to find out what Dr. Gartner was noticing about Trump’s cognitive issues. Gartner laid out that Trump’s decline has become far more pronounced. This comes as no surprise given we’ve all seen Trump answers questions in a non-sensical manner, appear confused, etc.
Gartner gave as a jarring example Trump recently confusing Harvard and Harlem. Asked by a reporter about Harvard, Trump first mentioned academic freedom, then bizarrely added, "We had riots in Harlem, in Harlem, and frankly, if you look at what’s gone on, and people from Harlem went up and they protested.” He then switched back to Harvard in very next line stating, “And they protested very strongly against Harvard. They happened to be on my side.”
To Gartner, this is a classic example an example of a “thought disorder” that is consistent with dementia because it happens with Trump frequently. But Gartner noted that after these incidents, “you see the reporters looking really like confused, and then just go on and ask another question, as if we didn't just witness an example of thought disorder.”
When I asked the Dr. how the media should be covering this he quickly responded: “Well by covering it. For one thing, they're not covering it at all!” He added for context that this is not new by the corporate media, “Before the election we had an enormous amount of trouble getting them to address Trump's cognitive decline. Instead, they were very focused on Biden's.”
But Trump’s decline is now undeniable given it’s not just verbal gaffes but also Trump’s noticeable physical struggles. Gartner explained, “When we talk about deterioration from dementia, I was focusing on language because that's the thing we most observe. But we are now seeing a deterioration in motor performance.”
Gartner shared he had recently spoken with several neurologists who confirmed that they are seeing physical declines with Trump consistent with dementia. These doctors note Trump was physically much more agile and coordinated just a few years ago. That has changed.
One example Gartner highlighted was, “If you watch the way he walks, he has what they call like a leg swing where his right leg he kind of swings it in a semicircle like it's a dead weight, and he's just kind of swinging it around.” He continued “that right leg swing is considered to be very diagnostic of a specific type of dementia known as frontotemporal dementia.” Neurologists he has spoken to such as Dr. Elisabeth Zoffman stated they are “absolutely convinced that it's frontotemporal dementia that he has because of that telltale right leg swing.”
Gartner then stated point blank that the Trump administration is “covering up” Trump’s dementia by scheduling almost all events he speaks at during the day. Many are aware of the “sundowning phenomenon” where people are “more thought disordered the later in the day they got,” he noted. As a result, he believed the Trump officials “are limiting his later in the day appearances intentionally.”
So why isn’t the corporate media reporting this?! Dr. Gartner offered the very likely reasons. One is corporate journalists don’t want to lose their jobs by pressing Trump too much on any issue and then being barred from the White House. And some corporate media executives are only too happy to pick profits over challenging Trump.
Secondly, Gartner ticked off the ways Trump has used the power of the government to target critics from law firms to universities to of course media outlets. “He has brought them to heal by his ruthlessness by his willingness to use any and every means necessary to harm them, and they know he'll do it,” the doctor explained. As an example, Gartner stated, “With CBS he has to threatened to take away their broadcast license” and block the merger sought by its parent company.
He summed it up this way: “The mad king” has so much power and has used it to target critics “that nobody wants to report on the fact that he's mad.
Alarmingly for our nation, Trump’s cognitive decline will only become worse by the day. “Dementia is a deteriorating illness,” Gartner explained. Trump will have good and bad days, but in time we can expect more bad days where he is confused—especially since “stress hastens the decline.”
Backing this up is earlier this week I spoke to Mary Turmp on the first episode of my new weekly Substack show, “The Dean’s Report Live!” She also raised alarm bells about Donald’s decline. Mary told me Donald's father had a very severe case of Alzheimer's, and the symptoms started becoming obvious when he was in his late 70s.” She then added, “Guess how old Donald is now?!” [FYI Donald is 79.]
We may get to a point where Trump is PINO—a “President in Name only” as I first warned about in October. Then the GOP power brokers, the Project 2025 crowd and Trump’s oligarchs will have a Trump puppet they can easily control to impose the agenda they have long dreamed of implementing. This is where we are heading. Yet corporate media won’t report on this—and worse people like Jake Tapper want to talk Joe Biden. Thank God we have independent media!

I'm one of those licensed psych professionals you referenced (retired now) and I've been wondering what the heck happened to all of those experts who contributed to Duty to Warn. This was music to my ears. It is patently obvious to those of us who've participated in dementia care and diagnosis (and in my case my dad also developed a form of dementia associated with strokes and TIAs) that Trump has some form of progressive dementia. The gait, the frequent derailing, the awkward compensations he makes when he's forgotten where he is when trying to explain a line of thought. And Mary Trump reminds us of how thoroughly out of it her grandfather and Donald's father Fred was toward the end. So demented, in fact, that he agreed to cut his other children out of his will when Evil Donnie insisted he be the only inheritor of Fred's estate. (See The Apprentice.) So, when you combine Donald's equally if not more severe character disorders (malignant narcissism and psychopathic tendencies) with advancing dementia, what do you get? A fricking disaster. Which is already upon us. And if anyone thinks the Project 2025 freaks and the tech overlord wannabees aren't already using him as a puppet, well, let's just say you aren't paying attention and let that be that.
We are not at the point of PINO. But at this point in his cognitive decline Trump can be manipulated by understanding his personality (similar to Hitler) and placing requests, properly worded, with the right emotion to Trump at the time. Additionally, Trump can be triggered at this point. Project 2025 sets the framework to maximize the ability to utilize a President like Trump, with a VP like Vance to accomplish it’s goals.
