Kevin McCarthy needs to drop out!
Today's Kevin McCarthy should take the advice of 2015 McCarthy when he dropped out of race for Speaker: "I don't want making voting for speaker a tough one. I don't want to go to the floor and win with 220 votes-If we are going to be strong, we've got to be a hundred percent united." Kevin McCarthy is learning first hand that you can never appease extremists. He should’ve stood up to Trump and MAGA. Instead he sucked up to them and as a result they don’t respect him at all. As much as we should enjoy the GOP House debacle this is now dangerous to our Republic. Time for ether Kevin McCarthy to step aside or for 12 Republicans to vote “present” which would make Hakeem Jeffries speaker of the House.

This fiasco in Congress indicates how fragile our Democracy has become. And Putin is laughing. He’s probably interfering. However, the Defense Spending Bill was passed and signed by Biden in the last Congress. So, there is still enough funding to continue to support Ukraine. But the fiasco in the House is still a tragedy for our country.
