The corrupt bloated building needs to go!

The least shocking aspect to Donald Trump’s demolition of the entire East Wing of the White House is that he lied to the American public about his plan. Trump had promised in July that his renovations “won’t interfere with the current building,” adding, the new design “pays total respect to the existing building, which I’m the biggest fan of. It’s my favorite place. I love it.”

Flash forward to Wednesday. Trump not only announced that the entire East Wing would be torn down, but he even slammed the building as “never thought of as being much”--despite saying just months ago he “loved” it and it was his “favorite place.” Of course, Trump only loves himself.

Trump—who loves to brag about he’s construction expertise—knew all along that the entire East Wing would have to go. That’s why he never had his minions send in advance the proposed construction plans to the National Capital Planning Commission.

The second least surprising aspect to this Trump building scheme is the rank corruption involved. There is no doubt Trump will personally profit on some level from the construction of a 90,000 square feet ballroom—which is nearly double the size of the White House residence.

Keep in mind the project is already over budget by $100 million dollars--and we are just days into this Trump scam. I’m serious. Trump originally projected the ballroom would cost about $200 million. Well, on Wednesday Trump said it will now cost $300 million to build. Why the huge jump in just a few months? Could it be Trump learned how to pad invoices from the years he built casinos in Atlantic City—where reporting tells us—he had worked with members of the mafia?!

But even if Trump—or his family through their companies—don’t actually see a dollar from the construction, this ballroom is already more corrupt than any mafia-built casino. We know that because Trump is soliciting donations from corporations that want to curry favor from Trump and his regime. While Trump still hasn’t told us yet who is funding the construction, we know he held a dinner with top executives from various companies to discuss funding it. The companies represented included defense contractor Lockheed Martin, cryptocurrency platform Coinbase, hedge fund Blackstone and big tech companies like Google and Amazon. This is the biggest pay-to-play corruption scheme yet! (Democrats should announce that any company that donates will be barred from receiving government contracts for a period of at least five years in an effort to combat this corrupt scheme.)

Despite a plea this week by The National Trust for Historic Preservation, a nonprofit agency created by Congress to help preserve historic buildings, for Trump to stop the demolition “until plans for the proposed ballroom go through the legally required public review processes,” nothing is going to stop him. This ballroom will be built and likely named after Trump—by Trump himself.

But that is all temporary. The next Democratic President has the power to change it in any way he or she sees fit. And after speaking to listeners on my SiriusXM show and reading the comments on Substack, tearing down the Trump ballroom on Day one is demanded. It’s a corrupt, bloated monument to a fascist who attempted a coup and incited the Jan. 6 terrorist attack. In fact, erasing every and anything Trump did to the White House and our country are top priorities.

Now with that said— and in the spirit of having fun—lets collectively brainstorm ideas for a new building to replace the ballroom. Or at the very least wholly re-purposing the ballroom in a way that future generations of Americans will always be reminded of how vile Trump really was.

In fact, on my SiriusXM show Thursday night, the phone lines blew up with people calling to share their proposed replacement buildings ranging from an exhibit to honor Blacks and Latinos, to a new center to swear in immigrants to the “Hunter Biden Center for the Arts.” (The last one was clearly just for trolling purposes!)

In that spirit, here are my proposed ideas:

1. The Donald J. Trump Crime and Corruption museum: In reality, 90,000 square feet is not big enough to house this—but it’s a good start. As a reminder, Trump was charged with 91 felonies in four jurisdictions ranging from attempting to overturn the 2020 election to violations of the Espionage Act for his mishandling of classified documents to falsifying business records—for which he was convicted of 34 felonies. Exhibits could include a series of courtroom sketches of Trump, the four indictments, the judge’s gavel and the jury questionnaire where they convicted him of all 34 felonies for cheating in the 2016 election. To be honest, this museum sounds great and it needs to happen!

2. The Jeffrey Epstein ballroom—or perhaps the Jeffrey Epsetin-Ghislaine Maxwell multi-purpose room. This room would be filled with photos of Trump with his BFF’s Epstein and Maxwell—together with a timeline of Trump hanging out with them as the two were running a child sex ring. Exhibits could include large images of Trump’s comments in 2002-—in the midst of the child sex ring—when he told the media that, “I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy.” Trump then added that Epstein loves beautiful women, “many of them are on the younger side.” I’d love to see an interactive exhibit of Trump denying ever being on Epstein’s plane known as “the Lolita Express” but then show the flight logs confirming Trump was actually on the plane at least eight times. I can see kids having a ball playing with the little animated plane flying to the destinations that Trump travelled to with Epstein. And of course a huge blow up image of the sexually suggestive birthday card Trump gave to Epstein for his 50^th birthday.

3. “Trump’s Jan. 6 attackers: Where are they now?” exhibit: This could a great interactive exhibit with images of the Jan. 6 terrorists Trump pardoned. First, we would see these people during the attack entering the Capitol, etc. Then we get to the “Where are they now?” update so people can see what Trump has unleashed on society. A few that come to mind include Christopher Moynihan, who was among the first group of rioters to break into the Capitol. He was sentenced to 21 months in prison but Trump pardoned him. So what did Moynihan do? He was just arrested after threatening to kill Trump critic, House Democratic minority leader Hakeem Jeffries. There is also Matthew Huttle who was in the Capitol during the attack and was later sentenced to six months in jail. Well, just days after being pardoned, Huttle was shot and killed by the police during an “altercation” with police. You get the idea.

4. All the women Trump Ever Harassed museum. Again, a bigger venue would be needed but this could be filled with the stories of the more than twenty women who bravely came forward to share how Trump had harassed and even sexually assaulted them. Trump’s infamous Access Hollywood tape would play in a loop so people could hear and see Trump say about women he found attractive: “I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything…Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.” And there would have to be a special exhibit dedicated to the amazing E. Jean Carroll who sued Trump twice in connection with sexual assault and defamation. She won both cases and was awarded nearly $90 million in damages—which was recently upheld on appeal.

Or we can build into a prison for Trump to spend his final days! But whatever happens, this building needs to go—and it should be replaced in a way that generations to come will always be reminded about the anti-American, corrupt, fascist who once lived in the White House.
