Epstein survivors remind us that GOP stands for “Guardians of Pedophiles”
GOP has chosen the predators over survivors
The brave survivors of the sex crimes of Donald Trump’s close friend Jeffrey Epstein deserve justice. Instead, we see Trump and the House GOP choosing to protect the predators over the victims. This is no surprise given the GOP has long chosen to side with Trump—a man who a jury found sexually assaulted E. Jean Carroll and a judge concluded committed “rape”—over a score of women who have come forward over the years to share that Trump had abused them.
But with the House GOP protecting Epstein, his co-conspirator Ghisaline Maxwell—along with Trump—they are now rightfully dubbed the “Guardians of Pedophiles.” You need look no further than the House GOP’s efforts to block the proposed legislation that would compel Trump’s DOJ to release all of the Epstein files. This bill was first introduced in July, but Trump and House GOP leadership opposed it. Then seeing that all the Democrats and a handful of GOP Reps were ready to support it ensuring its passage, GOP Speaker Mike Johnson literally adjourned Congress a few days early in mid-July to prevent that vote.
With Congress returning on Tuesday, Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna and GOP Rep. Thomas Massie again pushed for this legislation be brought to a vote by way of a discharge petition. This procedure requires a simple majority of the House (218) to sign the petition, thus, mandating a vote on releasing the Epstein files. As of today, all Democrats are on board. But how many of the 219 House Republicans? Four. Yep, just four of the six needed. And that’s because the House GOP Leadership are openly opposing it—no doubt because Trump doesn’t want the files released. Again, the GOP is truly the Guardians of Pedophiles.
And it’s not just me saying Trump and the GOP are siding with the pedophiles—it’s also people who endured the horrors of Epstein and Maxwell. That was confirmed over the past few days from the Epstein survivors during a group interview on NBC News and joint press conference Wednesday on Capitol Hill.
On Tuesday night, a group of twelve Epstein survivors appeared on NBC News where reporter Halle Jackson asked Epstein survivor Marijke Chartouni “What would you say to the President if he could hear you right now about this?” Chartouni stated point blank a response that caused other survivors on the panel to nod in agreement: “I would ask why he’s putting so much attention on the criminals and why he seems to value them more than us.”
Later in the interview, some survivors slammed how Trump had moved convicted child sex trafficker Maxwell to a “country club” type prison after she peddled lies that Trump liked. At that point, Jackson asked the group, “Has anyone heard from anybody at the White House or any of their representatives?” In unison, all twelve people responded: “No.”
If Trump cared about these women assaulted and even raped by his friend Epstein, he would at least have his DOJ reach to them—which is common for prosecutors assessing a case. Instead, we know from reporting that last month Trump trashed the victims as “Democrats” –which his playbook to dehumanize people in the eyes of his MAGA base.
Then came Wednesday’s press conference on Capitol Hill that saw a group of strong, courageous women stand up to demand Trump and the GOP release the complete Epstein files. Epstein survivor Marina Lacerda explained on a human level why she and others who suffered Epstein’s evil need these files, “The worst part is that the government is still in possession right now of documents and information that could help me remember and get over all of this maybe, and help me heal.”
Other survivors like Lisa Phillips demanded the files release so that the predators could be held accountable. As she noted, Epstein was an “international human trafficker” and she and the other survives demand justice. She put it bluntly: “Congress must choose. Will you protect predators or will you finally protect survivors?!”
Phillips then added that the survivors are not powerless, vowing that if DOJ won’t release a list of all who Epstein clients, they will compile their own list. Phillips declared: “We know the names. Many of us were abused by them. Now, together as survivors, we will confidentially compile the names we all know who regularly were in the Epstein world. And it will be done by survivors and for survivors.”
In addition to the survivors, GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene—who is one of the four House Reps to sign the discharge petition—vocally demanded the files be released. “The truth needs to come out. And the government holds the truth…The FBI, the DOJ, and the CIA hold the truth,” Greene declared.
But the House GOP leaders can’t allow the full release of the files because at the very least they will show Trump knew about the child sex ring operated by his two close friends Epstein and Maxwell. As I recently wrote, Maxwell’s recent deposition taken by Trump’s DOJ actually further incriminates Trump as she laid out how close they were during the years of the sex ring and how she “loved” to spend time at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago.
That just added to the damning evidence that ties Trump, Epstein and Maxwell. For example, Trump had praised Epstein in 2002 as a “terrific” guy who he knew for 15 years. He then added the infamous line, “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.” Keep in mind, federal prosecutors proved at Maxwell’s criminal trial that the child sex ring ran from at least 1994 to 2004. That means Trump was close to Epstein in those very years.
And Trump was caught lying that he had never been on Epstein’s plane called by the media “The Lolita Express.” Trump wrote on social media in 2024: “I was never on Epstein’s Plane.” In reality, the DOJ released flight logs from earlier this year that tell us Trump flew on “The Lolita Express” at least eight times between 1993 and 1997. That was backed up by evidence at Maxwell’s trial in 2021.
Well, Wednesday’s press conference added more fuel to the fire that Trump knew about the sex ring. That came from survivor Chauntae Davies who stated, “Jeffrey and Ghislaine — were always very boastful about their friends…and his biggest brag, forever, was that he was very good friends with Donald Trump.” She added that Epstein “had an 8-by-10 framed picture of him on his desk with the two of them. Like they were very close.”
Trump—while clearly cognitively and physically on the decline—still gets this is bad. That is why on Wednesday when he was asked shortly after the press conference for a comment, he went into full attack mode. The convicted felon bellowed to the press, “This is a Democrat hoax that never ends!” He added, “It’s really a Democrat hoax because they’re trying to get people to talk about something that’s totally irrelevant to the success that we’ve had as a nation since I’ve been president.” He then later repeated, “What they’re trying to do with the Epstein hoax is get people to talk about that instead of speaking about the tremendous success.”
Later on Wednesday, the Trump regime went further and threatened any House Republican who supports the legislation to release the complete Epstein files. A White House official stated point blank that supporting the discharge petition would be viewed as a “very hostile act to the administration.” Trump does not want this file released given what he knows it says about him and his role in a child sex rape ring.
Trump is as vile as they come—as is Epstein and Maxwell. And these are the people the House GOP has chosen to side with over the survivors. Once again, today’s GOP truly does stand for Guardians of Pedophiles.

Isn’t Trump’s calling today’s press conference a Democratic hoax indication that he is calling all of the victims liars. Defamation of Character seems to be his only defense. He should again be held accountable for his defamatory statements.
I hope this revives the "Me Too" movement, because there would be a would be a Huge turnout. Great article today, Dean, and will reStack ASAP 🙏
